#0429 - Miscellaneous Dumpster Fire - 09/23-09/24/2026
Speaker 1: Hi everybody, it's me. And I'm I'm actually here now. I'm here. I should have drank some coffee before I did this break. But I didn't have time. I wanted to get here, say, sorry, Jade. Sorry, man. But I'm a little bit late.
And then just rush to jump on air and let you know I am here. I wasn't monkeying around. Well, I when I sent that break in, hopefully it worked.
I wasn't monkeying around when I said I would be giving away a copy of Metallica's load today. But I did have to send that break uh from home last night at I don't know, 10 30 p.m. or so. Uh a little bit uh past my bedtime.
Okay. I wanna give out a little bit of advice, and this is for myself as well, because I only have one key to my truck. Invest in a spare key, all right?
Invest in a spare key to your vehicle in case I don't know, the universe just wants to strike you down. Oh I've had a a rough like last week or so. You know, come in Monday, throw a tantrum on air. At least uh this one I'm gonna get into the details of. And I'm too too tired to really throw a tantrum. Um last night, we decided, well, Becca needed to go to Walmart to get some clothes for her daughter because today is school picture day.
No biggie. All right, let's let's bomb over to Walmart, get some clothes. So we go to Walmart. You know, it's it's a reasonable time. Because you know me.
You hear me complaining about not getting enough sleep. If it was too late, I would have been like, eh, no. But it was pretty early. So let's go to Walmart, we'll get that done. Uh, I'll still have plenty of time to get plenty of rest for the long day ahead today. Uh, we've got a lot going on.
Seven dust show happening tonight at the Mountain America Center. So we get our uh stuff, you know, check out, get out to the car, and where are the keys? Where are the keys?
Becca's keys are just gone. So we go back in. And I I don't know how long we were at Walmart last night. A short trip turned into let's search the ins entire store. Let's just search the parking lot. Thankfully, she has like the code on her car so you can get into it. Let's rip the car apart, see if we can find you know that where could they have gone?
Like couldn't be very many places. They're in the abyss, all right? They're gone. So we finally gave up, took an Uber home from Walmart with our groceries, and then I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do this morning, because you know, Becca's daughter has to get to school. Becca has to get to work. I gotta get to work.
We've got one vehicle. So I hit you know, send Jade a message like, uh, hey, bro. Becca's keys vanished.
I don't know what else to do aside from uh, you know, take her daughter to school, take her to work, and then come in. Um so you know, it's already late. I have to put in a bunch of the the best ups you've been hearing throughout the morning here. Um, and send uh basically a live remote breakover to announce the album of the day, which I I'm gonna go back and check it if it uh did not play correctly.
I will re-announce. I mean, you know the album of the day is loaded, so it's a song from that album. Um so that takes me a bunch of time to get all of that together, and then I'm just stressed out. I can't, you know, get to sleep, and then I had to get up at the usual time today, anyway. So I'm so exhausted. We get up, get her daughter ready for picture day, drop her off back to Walmart.
Nothing better than starting your day at Walmart. Let's search again. Uh no luck, nobody's turned in the keys. And I'm like, where could they have gone? Where could they have gone? So I hope that uh throughout the shopping day, somebody finds them and turns them in because there's so much going on today. Uh, not to mention all the rest of the week.
I'm like, what are we gonna do? So Becca, like me, does not have a spare key to her vehicle. Um, I highly recommend if you don't have a spare key for your vehicle, you you you get one. Uh so then, you know, situations like this don't happen. Like, even if we would have had to Uber home, at least we could have grabbed the spare key, gone and get the you know, the car.
You know, there's other keys missing that are a problem, but at least the car would be dealt with, and being able to get to the places we need to be would be handled easily. So I'm tired and stressed out. I need some coffee. And uh it's gonna be a long one, people, but what do you do? You endure, I guess you try to survive. Uh, so I'm gonna go make some coffee. I've got a very long checklist I need to go through.
Oh boy. I hope your morning's going uh good. Hope yours is going all right. I mean, we we got everything handled this morning. We're just down a vehicle. Please, somebody find those keys.
Please. Uh, all right. Yeah, too busy this morning to even have caffeine. All right, I'm gonna go get some, and then I'll be back in a few, and thankfully I haven't had any time to look at the news this morning. You know, that's one less stressor, but I did drive by the gas station.
Yikes. Anyhow, uh, thankfully the remote break I sent in for 705 did work. I went back and checked it, had to do that at 10.30 or so last night.
Certainly sounded pretty exhausted. Great. Ugh, all right. I got myself a cup of coffee.
Uh, just got laughed at by Jade and uh Jeff and Maddie about uh the the struggles last night and this morning. Fingers crossed that the keys show up. Okay, I was just happy to see that the uh the live break sent from home.
At least all that worked. So I'm giving away a vinyl copy of load. And if you didn't hear the song of the day, you know what?
Screw it. It I'm I'm just gonna announce it because today's been so chaotic and my brain's cooked. The song is Poor Twisted Me. So if you hear that song played, be color number 20. I'll give you the vinyl and I'll put you into the drawing to win tickets to see uh Metallica in Salt Lake City. So that's what we got going on.
And about 10 million other things. I got a lot of catching up to do, so um, I'll take a quick break and we'll we'll be back in a minute. All right, cool.
Alright. How's everybody doing this morning? I I got a little bit of coffee. I'm starting to feel a little more relaxed. Ugh. Just been one of those weeks that kept me just riddled with anxiety. Thankfully, we've got a rock show tonight.
That's always fun. Two great, well, three great bands. We've got Theory of a Dead Man and Seven Dust, along with Return to Dust.
It should be a great time. Seven Dust and Theory always kill it. Excited to see Return to Dust as well.
And uh all of you, because I always enjoy hanging out with you at a live show. So uh long as a meteor doesn't crash into East Idaho, I I I think I should make it. I can't imagine uh too much more chaos going on today.
I I really hope not. Because I, you know, my brain's cooked. It's only Wednesday. But at least I remembered to bring the garbage out to the road, I guess.
Ugh. So, what I'm gonna do is try to prepare and uh have a really good noon hour of madness in Mayhem today. Alright? I'm gonna do my best. Keep listening for that song of the day.
Um, as you can tell, I'm frazzled. Um, so sorry that uh you had a bunch of best of today and uh only one break that was really a break. But it is what it is. You just gotta survive sometimes.
So I hope you're doing well. I'll be back in a while. And uh I'll see y'all out at the show later this evening. All right, sound good? I'll talk to you in a few. Hey, what's up all? Welcome to the noon hour of madness and mayhem.
I'm Victor Wilt. Feeling pretty low on the madness and mayhem front. Or whatever. I'm sleepy. If you didn't hear my break during the nine o'clock hour this morning, um ended up having a a very late night endlessly searching the Walmart and Ammon for Becca's keys that just somehow vanished while we were in the store. Weren't there for very long. Just doing a little bit of school clothes shopping for picture day and get out to the car, and there the keys are just gone.
So had a nice time. Wandering Walmart for an additional, I don't know, hour, hour and a half trying to find the keys last night, failed. So had to Uber home from Walmart with our groceries. And then uh had to come in late because we did not have a spare key. Uh once once again, want to give out the advice that you should uh get a spare key for your vehicle if you don't have one. I know it's expensive, but uh it would prevent a situation where now you are down by a vehicle that is just hanging out at Walmart.
So if you're headed to the Walmart in Ammon today, and you happen to spot some keys on the ground somewhere, uh, please turn them into customer service. That would be fantastic to get the weight of that off of my shoulders. You know, we got a fun night ahead.
We got Seven Dust and Theory of a Dead Man at the Mountain America Center. I'm very tired from I had to like deal with my show after I got home last night because I I knew I wasn't gonna be able to come in for a bit this morning, having to uh take Becca to work and take her daughter to school. So, yeah, yeah, if I could find the keys, I'd at least be a little bit of stress relief. And uh, hopefully caffeine does the trick today to get me all pumped up for a show tonight. One of those days where I mean, usually by noon I'm not whining about how I want to be taking a nap right now, but I'm a sleepy boy today. I hope you're you're doing good.
Uh anyhow, throughout this hour, hopefully we'll have some fun things to talk about. I took a look at uh something that somebody emailed me. I I just wonder a lot of the time what our local politicians are up to, you know, in this state. And I I found out about a couple ballot measures that I'm just like, why? Why is that you guys had to sit around, discuss this, send it to the governor, you know. Now it's going, you know, on the ballot, and then if you pass it, then you know they have to do a bunch more crap to actually make it a thing. Like, can you guys just get down to fixing our problems?
Anyway, I'll get into that next break. It's just it's just dumb, in my opinion. These two particular things that are on the ballot that uh I had not heard anybody talk about, but I'm not surprised, cuz you know, our politicians seem to waste a lot of time, but yeah, stick around for that. It maybe it's just because I'm tired that I'm this baffled. It's like, what why are we doing this?
Because it doesn't do anything. Anyway, that's coming up next. And I hope you're having a good day. Uh guess I'll go get some more coffee or something.
Gotta survive this day somehow. Okay, so the last break I was talking about, a couple ballot initiatives that our state will be voting on in November that I hadn't heard about, and I just had to ask why. Because getting something onto the ballot for people to vote on, it takes some time and work. There are a couple ways these things can happen. You could have people around the state gather signatures to get an initiative on a ballot, or you know, you could have a member of our legislature introduce a measure, then they all vote on it, and then they send it to the governor, and then they place it on the ballot, and uh after that, what they have to do is what does it say here? I don't know, but basically to actually make these things official, they have to do more crap after the voting actually happens.
Um the first one that I just go, okay. Our legislature went through this whole process, spent all this time to get this on the ballot. Why? Because it doesn't accomplish anything. It's it's just some type of pandering, as far as I'm concerned. Uh apparently, one of the things we get to vote on in November is whether or not to designate English as the official language of Idaho. Who cares? How does that help us fix any of the problems that we're dealing with in this state right now? I mean, what is the point?
Well, we've made it official. It's not like people are just gonna stop speaking other languages. It doesn't serve purpose other than pandering to some people. It just seems like a waste of time. This is what our tax dollars are paying for. Our legislators to debate these kind of things and whether or not they should be on the ballot. They're farting around spending time doing this rather than working on fixing our problems.
That's why I get mad. The other one, which I think is equally pointless, is I guess we're gonna be able to vote on our official state gun. Okay. Again, why? Like, they went through that whole big process to get that on the ballot.
And why? Why not do it on like a website? You know, this is this is what our tax dollars are going toward.
Getting this on the ballot. Like, I've talked about how I used to sell guns and things like that. I'm not some kind of anti-gun nut. This just seems like our tax dollars are being being wasted going over non-issues, and I don't understand the point. You know, the the other things on the ballot make sense to me because they deal with uh you know our rights as people. But this is it ugh just like what is going on. Uh, you vote these people in, and then you're just like, what are you guys doing with your time?
Oh, farting around going, well, I think this gun's pretty cool. I like this one though. All right, well, all right, we'll all pick our favorites, but we'll let the state decide.
Dudes, do it in a Facebook poll. All right. We got problems that need fixed. Anyway, make sure to look into all the ballot measures. Really, only one of them's being talked about, and that's proposition one. There's this other one, HJR4, uh, which basically gives these legislators that I'm talking about, um, the authority to basically prevent uh citizens from putting certain initiatives on a ballot. Like, you know, if the whole state wants something, doesn't matter.
Whoever's in charge gets to go. No, yes, no, yes, no. Um, that one's not being talked about a lot for some reason. Everybody's just talking about proposition one. Make sure to go into this election cycle uh educated. Please look at all of the different candidates.
Please look at all the different ballot measures, and most importantly, please get out and vote. And you can have fun. You can vote on your favorite gun this year.
All right. Yeah, real important. So, people don't drink and drive. Drinking and driving is bad.
Okay. Uh, you could hurt yourself, you could hurt other people. You could end up in jail. You could make national news.
If you do something really stupid in the midst of it, just don't do it. Call an Uber. You know, if I can get an Uber from Walmart home with my groceries because of lost keys. Again, if you're headed to the Am in Walmart and you find any uh keys, please turn those in.
Um, you can take an Uber too. Don't be like this woman in Charlottesville, Virginia, who has made national news, or well, I mean, I found this story. Uh, apparently this woman crashed into a police car. So you got this officer, he's just sitting there and he sees this mini Cooper like coming right for him. So he throws his uh his car into reverse, but she still smashes into him. So then he turns the lights on uh because she kept going and uh ended up being able to pull her over.
Uh, vehicle just reeked to booze. Uh, but she's fighting, you know, not wanting to get handcuffed, keeps pulling her wrists away. So I guess uh he hadn't it doesn't say that he had done any kind of like a breathalyzer test or anything at that point. Unsure of what happened there, but they were going to give her a okay. I guess Virginia law mandates a 20-minute observation period prior to the test to prevent eating, drinking, and even burping that could affect the results. So maybe that's why they took her to jail to uh do the the breathalyzer test. So while they're waiting for you know, to have 20 minutes of time to just chill, she's like, hey, I need to go to the bathroom. And so they take her to the bathroom, and you know, you never know what somebody's gonna get up to, so they kind of left the door cracked so they could keep an eye on her. Um she scoops up a bunch of dirty jail toilet water.
And she had uh gone number one. Um and just starts chugging it down to try to, I guess, screw up the test. Guess what?
It didn't do anything. Uh yeah, she blew a point two six three times over the legal limit. Um she's gonna be probably in a lot of trouble there. And she also made national news for drinking jail toilet water. You don't want to be the drank the jail toilet water lady. Um yeah, you got enough problems going on at that point. You know, just be somewhat, you know, grateful that the universe didn't or you know, prevented you from hurting somebody.
And man, your family's gonna really make fun of you to the end of time for that one if they're not already furious for the fact that you were uh you know, arrested in this manner after smashing into a police car and then fleeing. Um do that, okay. The weekend is approaching. Get yourself an Uber. They're easy to get.
Even if you're stuck in the Walmart parking lot. Well, I'm sitting here looking at this online quiz, and since it's only five questions, and I ain't got anything better to do. I figured we'll wrap up the show with this. Can you spot the AI video quiz?
All right, I go over a lot of content online every single day, and I think I'm pretty decent at being able to spot AI stuff, but I don't know. I don't know. Let's find out. This it's from the AP, so I would assume it's not gonna have any bad language.
It better not. All right, we've got a man here talking to the camera. See what he has to say. Oh, they do they not have audio? Oh, there it is.
Speaker 2: But quickly turns into an investment scheme. Watch that again. Sorry. They say the scams start off as a simple online friendship, but quickly turns into an investment scheme. Okay.
Speaker 1: I mean, that looks pretty real.
Speaker 3: Bankers are saying that they are seeing more fraught cases and is really targeting senior citizens.
Speaker 1: Now that one that seems real. Like just listening to the audio. I mean, I've got headphones on, you can hear the wind noise. Let's listen to this guy again.
Speaker 2: They say the scams start off as a simple online friendship, but quickly turns into an investment scheme.
Speaker 1: What's weird is both people are standing in front of the same background. Looks like there's four people in these videos. Let's watch the other two.
Speaker 4: Now, during the hearing, bankers are saying that they are seeing more fraud cases, and it's really targeting senior citizens. Okay. So the Senate has a special committee that works to keep older Americans informed about managing their money.
Speaker 1: I'll admit that every single one of those videos looks pretty real, but I'm going to guess that video two.
Speaker 3: Who are they hearing? I was saying that they are seeing more. I was right. And it's really targeting senior citizens.
Speaker 1: Okay, so so far I'm pretty good at spotting AI scams. Okay, can you spot the real unaltered photo? We got a woman standing in the street. Okay, now she's standing in another street. The picture of the woman looks exactly the same. And they're asking for the real unaltered photo. There she is standing in front of the Louvre, and there she is standing in the trees with some kind of an arch in the background. I'm gonna go based on the lighting that number four is correct. Oh man, I'm good at this.
Speaker 3: That voice on the phone may not be who you think it is. Just a few seconds of audio can be used to create a fake voice that sounds real.
Speaker 1: Okay, that's voice number one. Oh my god. Okay, so I told you about the the issue I had with losing the keys at Walmart. If you haven't recently called Walmart and dealt with Walmart's AI voice answering service, oh an like an automated system to begin with is annoying, but it's so bad. Okay, let's see if I can spot what voice is real. All right, see if I'm gonna get taken over by AI. Let's listen to that voice again.
Speaker 3: That voice on the phone may not be who you think it is. Just a few seconds of audio can be used to create a fake voice that sounds real.
Speaker 1: That voice sounded fake to me. Let's keep going.
Speaker 3: AI powered scams are surging, and the technology is getting so good, it can be hard to know what's real anymore.
Speaker 1: Okay, it sounds like the same voice.
Speaker 4: Even a short audio clip from social media can be enough to create a convincing fake voice. Okay. They all sound fake to me.
Speaker 3: If you get an urgent call or message, verify before you act.
Speaker 1: That's a hard one. That's a hard one.
Speaker 3: That voice on the phone may not be who you AI powered scams are surging. And even a short audio clip from social media can be enough. If you get an urgent call or message, verify before you act.
Speaker 1: I mean, voice three sounded different, so I think they're doing a trick question. I'm gonna click voice three just because uh it sounded completely different from the others, but
Speaker 4: even a short audio clip from social media.
Speaker 1: That was real. That one was real. All right, is this person real or fake? I'm looking at a uh image of a woman. Uh it's a video. She's just kind of looking at the camera. She opens her mouth, leans in closer. Ah, let's try real. No, she's fake. She's fake. Dang it.
Speaker 3: This is the pill that can cure your cancer.
Speaker 1: But okay. Is this person real or fake?
Speaker 3: This is the pill that can cure your cancer. She looks real. This is the pill that can cure your cancer.
Speaker 1: No, she's fake too. Jeez. Okay. Well, I did about a half of them right. Just goes to show. I mean, even sitting here using high quality headphones to listen to the audio. I've got a great computer monitor here with these images pretty big. Even I can't spot what's fake anymore. Be careful with what you see online. I mean, we're heading into, like I talked about earlier, an election cycle. We're gonna start seeing all kinds of propaganda popping up. So uh make sure to research anything you see. Um, usually there's some fact checking and uh debunking and such going on when it comes to viral videos that people suspect may not be real. Um do some Googling on these kind of things, because you you think it's bad now?
Wait till we see what this stuff's like in a year. I mean, already right there, I got half of the questions wrong, and that kind of surprises me. Anyway, I'm gonna get out of here. I'll see y'all at the show tonight.
Seven dust theory of a dead man live at the Mountain America Center. It's gonna be a good time. If you spot me, come say hi. Well, hello, folks.
It's me here, truly doing it live. One show down, many more to go. Thank you to everybody who turned out last night for Seven Dust Theory of a Dead Man and Return to Dust. Uh, great show. I liked the well, okay. I like part of the setup. The dual pit thing.
I wasn't a super big fan of that, but I guess it's uh it's a thing they're doing. All right, you know, people can pay a premium to be up closer to the stage. And it wasn't like you had a bad view anywhere in that half stage setup because uh yeah, the stage was much closer to the people on the end. So that was cool. I just like one big open pit. All right, and uh it was good to see lots of homies out. And uh yeah, great show. Now we gotta get ready for the next one that's hitting our area.
That would be October 10th. God smack. Uh turns out I guess I'm gonna go see God Smack this weekend. I got a call from Ben at the Advocates yesterday, and he's like, you know, my daughter would love it if you and Becca brought her daughter along. Come on, come with me to Boise this weekend. All right. I mean, all I really wanted to do this weekend was uh try to get some chores done, but I suppose it can wait.
I like hanging out with Ben. So I'll get an advanced preview of the show that I was all ready to gonna go to October 10th. We're giving away tickets to it all week.
God smack and Dorothy at the Mountain American Center. Uh that one's a full venue setup, if I recall correctly. So, anyhow, let's give away some tickets to it. Start off uh yeah, to begin the show.
Uh 2085351015 OGO caller number 13 for a pair of tickets to go check out God Smack. And uh hey, uh this song's you know kind of accurate. I've had uh some stressful uh times this month.
So yeah, uh, if I could sleep till the beginning of October, that would be cool, but uh wake me up when September ends. All right, I I'm trying to tie this all together here, people. It's not working out great, but you get it. You just come in and start bothering me. What you need for well, I came in, got busy, gave away some God Smack tickets, talked about how you're some kind of God smack fan.
Oh, dude, that was the funniest thing ever. What was uh was that under oath? It was under oath with uh was it Spirit Box and Bad Omens? Yeah, I think so. Like when Bad Omens was a baby band, yeah, and Spirit Box, who are both now playing like huge arenas.
Speaker 2: And under oath it just barely came back into the scene.
Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're at this show, and why did that girl even she was just being rude?
Speaker 2: Well, you were wearing uh Chester's first band shirt, whatever that was. Oh, yeah, I had a hoodie on. Yeah, and it's like, what is that? You some kind of God smack friend, yeah.
Speaker 1: And so I think I lifted up my hoodie and I had a coat orange shirt. And then I was like, hey, here, look at my phone. I gotta go. Oh, you gotta go. I got work to do. Uh oh, I don't like it when you jet out uh quickly.
That makes me nervous. Well, anyway, so I'm wearing this uh, you know, coat and orange shirt. I bust out my phone, and I show her, here's me and Jade and the band Underoath from earlier today in my studio hanging out. And then she started being uh really nice to me. So, anyhow, um, I don't know.
I had something I was gonna talk with Jade about, but he just bailed on me. No, not fair. Ugh, when I got to work today, I was outside, you know, in the sun. Ew, outside. Um, and I looked at myself and I'm like, why didn't you use the lint roller before you left?
You look like crap, dude. Just covered in cat hair and lint. Jeez. Really need to get some uh laundry dealt with and hung up, apparently, so I can see it better when I'm rushing to get ready for the day. But uh, yeah, we've still got a Metallica vinyl to give away today.
It's gonna happen by three. Today our album of the day is reload. So make sure to be listening for a song from that album that I announced at 7.05 this morning that uh it's one we don't play super often.
All right. Uh that's my hint. It's from the album reload, and we don't play it. Uh I mean, it's a deep cut from that album. So when you hear it play, be color 20. I'll give you the vinyl, and I'll put you into a drawing to win tickets to see Metallica.
All right, I'll be back in just a minute. Ah, so listener Stuart just called me, and we were talking about the show last night. Didn't get a chance to bump into Stuart. Um, but he reminded me of something that happened last night.
I can't remember where I saw it, but it really annoyed me after the show. So if you were there, you saw me get up and do my thing, you know, a stage announcement, talk to the crowd a little bit, get them pumped up for theory of a dead man who was about to take the stage. And uh, you know, I told my story about you know 25 years ago, Rich Ward from Stuck Mojo, now guitarist for Fozzie coming out in a luchador mask and power bombing me into the crowd at the Roach Motel right at the beginning of Seven Dust Set. And I gave a couple shout-outs from the stage to people who I saw. I saw my homie Dan Ditto from the the band Godbone and was like, what up? There's Dan Ditto right there, and then I'm like, oh, and there Peaches right there giving shout-outs to my friends.
Yeah. Somebody accused me of like mocking Peaches or something. I can't find the post. You know, it was late last night. When um when that post was floating around, I don't know if it was in the K-Bear group or on one of Peach's posts, but I'm like, why on earth would I mock somebody from the stage? Talk about unprofessional.
No, I get out there and do my job. Peaches and I are homies. He just yesterday posted a video of us busting out a rap song. What planet are people on that they think there is some kind of problem between me and Peaches? This isn't the first time this has happened that I've had to argue with somebody about this. Like, we are homies, okay?
I would not mock anyone from the stage, even if I didn't like them, because that's unprofessional. So I don't know again, hopefully I can find that post so I can comment on it. I'm sure if I commented on it last night, it was uh very snarky to say the least. But yeah, we're cool, we're homies.
All right, I talked to him on the phone like last weekend for three hours just about miscellaneous stuff. All right, settle down, people. The making up stories in your own head and then spewing them out online is so ridiculous. So settle down, everybody. Jeez. Alright. Anyway, I hope everybody's doing good. Um, I gotta give a shout out to listener Steve. I wish I would have been able to talk to you in the lobby, but uh Steve has heard me whining all week about uh because I've had a rough last seven days.
Um my brain hurts. You know, I've been a lot of uh stressful things going down, and um Steve stopped by and dropped off two Halloween decorations that he made himself. Um they're they're like wooden uh carved boxes with jack-o'-lantern faces with little LED lights that flash inside, and they're really, really cool.
So thank you to listeners, Steve. I got these uh behind me on the little desk, and we've Halloweened the studio up a little bit. Uh hopefully I can get my Halloween decorations up at home soon. We're about reaching that point where it's like, okay, if it goes too long, it's not even worth taking the time to put them up. Because we should have put them up at the beginning of September. Uh, so they last a little while.
And then you decorate for Christmas like at the beginning of November. So the stuff's up for a little while. Anyway, um, I'm gonna take a break and I'll come back at noon.
But make sure you keep listening before 3 o'clock, gonna give away the uh Metallica reload vinyl and get somebody into a drawing to win some tickets. So alright, I got about 10 billion tasks to do. I I know I say that every day, but it's simply the truth. It's how it goes. Welcome to the uh I might as well just call it the Victor Wilch Show. I will have a co-host joining me for the noon hour of madness in Mayhem, hopefully starting uh next week.
It's just been a little bit nutty around here. Anyway, you know her, Maddie from Z103. Gonna start uh joining me for this program.
But speaking of madness, I did uh encounter a little bit today. Um if you don't have to travel anytime soon, I just wouldn't. Uh finally just decided, okay, dude. Your your daughter's getting married in literally a month. You have to buy the plane tickets, no matter how outrageous they are. Yikes. Usually, there are very cheap flights from Idaho Falls to Phoenix.
And I don't know if it's just the weekend my daughter decided I'm gonna get married. But the prices are ridiculous. And you know, with what I've been reading in the news about uh jet fuel and diesel and stuff, I was like, I bet these things could probably increase further. So uh I'm guessing I'm just gonna go ahead and just eat the dough. So that sucks, but you you can't really skip your daughter's wedding because of the price of plane tickets. Ugh. And then I read articles like this one that popped up about uh a passenger a passenger sitting right next to her who was uh, we'll just say being inappropriate.
All right. Um she's just sitting next to some guy, and uh, well, there are things that guys can do that they should uh certainly do at home, away from all other people, and I don't know what kind of a psycho would do that in the middle middle of an airplane, but you can probably guess. Uh, she says, I got the sense he'd done it before. People just don't do those things at 6 a.m.
Oh, geez. That's how you gotta start your day, you know, show up to the airport a couple hours early, deal with the TSA and security, and you know, go through the scanner, have them rip your bags apart, then he get on the plane, uh, you're exhausted, and then he gets seated next to that guy. Uh hopefully I have an a normal travel. Uh, they did give her a 100 flight credit. Way to go.
Way to go. Oh, yeah, I'm sure that made up for it. Here's a hundred bucks toward another flight. Uh her flight had cost uh roughly 400, so they didn't even give her a full flight credit.
Not a refund, but a credit toward another flight with them. Um did somebody, you know, arrest the guy? I guess she waited till she got off the plane and went up to the gate and's like, you know what was going on while I'm on this flight, and they're like, well, what am I supposed to do about it? So she had to contact the FAA and the FBI just to get a hundred dollar flight credit. She did. Oh, okay. So she she didn't even take the flight.
She got up and left because this happened before they even took off. Oh my goodness. Well, ugh. hopefully my travel goes a little bit better than that.
Alright. It's Thursday. I'd say I wish it was Friday, but I got a long day ahead tomorrow. Don't forget, I'm gonna be out broadcasting live with Idaho Preferred tomorrow. 11 to 1 at Brolam's in Anon, and then from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walmart in Ammon. By the way, speaking of the Walmart and Ammon, thank you to whoever turned in Becca's keys yesterday. That was a major stress relief with everything else that's been going on. It's been a rough week. So hopefully today and tomorrow are smooth. But Idaho preferred are great.
Now I I've done live broadcasts with them before. It's all about Idaho agriculture and goods. So you can identify goods that are produced here in Idaho. You know, meat and stuff that was grown here in Idaho, fruits and vegetables. Uh products like cheese.
You know, support Idaho farmers and ranchers. We'll go over all the details. And maybe I'll sign you up to win some Godsmack tickets. That's tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brolins in Ammon, and then 4 to 6 p.m.
at Walmart in Ammon. So I hope to see you there. Yo, GTA 6 fans. Do you want to spend even more money on GTA 6? And uh spend money on GTA 6 stuff that doesn't even include a copy of the game, not even a digital copy.
Uh well, if you've got 400 to spend, I would imagine this will be one of these items that'll probably be worth a lot of money someday, but I ain't got 400 bucks to fork over. Uh it's the GTA 6, the good time say uh state vice city collection, and it comes with all kinds of crap. A six inch six inch figure of Mac of the Gator with a stash compartment. Uh like all of these items look kind of uh well, like you wouldn't take them on an airplane, okay? Like a uh Mac of the Gator Magnetic Mirror, a Vice City Swizzle Spoon, a Vice City razor blade keychain.
Uh they do have some like fairly normal stuff here. You've got uh some GTA 6 Oakley Frog Skin sunglasses with Prism Sapphire lenses, a new era 940 A-frame snapback hat with the Vice City Leonida embellishment. What else I got in here? There's a shot glass, there's uh a pin set in a custom metal tin, bunch of stickers in a stash bag, a double-sided souvenir poster.
Uh generally, the you know, like super editions of a game like Red Dead or GTA in the past, they at least had a map, but I don't know. I mean, they look like high quality items. I mean, like they're oakally sunglasses, okay? So they're not just like the ones you get at the the dollar store. But like recently, some GTA 6 shirts were given away at a game show, and they're online already for hundreds of dollars. So I don't know how many of these they're making, but it could be an investment.
It could be. Like, I've got the Red Dead um, what do you call that thing? It's like, it's not the manual. It's a like the Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide.
It's a hardcover book. And uh, I think they were fairly normally priced when they came out, but uh skyrocketed in value. It's not like some crazy amount of money, but uh I've seen people in the Red Dead uh communities online complaining about like I want to buy one of these, but geez, why are they so expensive? Collector's item.
That's why. So again, it could be a decent investment. Or if you're just a GTA fanatic, it'll I'm sure be cool to have. I myself, sorry, uh, I just had to spend 400 bucks on a flight that was normally like you know, 50.
So I haven't even pre-ordered GTA 6 yet. I'm running out of dough. Oh man, it's time to celebrate. How did I miss this news? Fat Bear Week has opened. Yeah, you know what uh fat bear week is it's when you you vote on your favorite fat bear. You go to um I thought it was fatbearweek.com.
What's going on here? I swear that's the link I went to. Oh, fatbearweek.org.
The link changed when I actually brought the page up. But you can uh check out videos of the bears out doing their thing. It's like a you know, a tiered what do you call that? About almost like a bracket system. You got uh bears like 151 Walker, 903 Gully.
You know, they're they're battling it out right now in pole one. You got 32 chunk versus 164 bucky. I think 32 chunk is the one that like wins every year.
So I don't know. He looks pretty chunky. Now, okay, that one, 89 backpack. That looks like a fat bear. Yeah.
I don't know. I uh even the the guy taking on 32 chunk, 164 Bucky. He looked pretty big. So, yeah, you want to vote on your favorite fat bear? It's something fun and positive to do, right? So go to fatbearweek.org. This is K-Bear. We gotta show our support for our favorite fat bear.
You can get your kids to vote. You can learn about Fat Bear Week, and then you can find out who wins. You can even check out the Hall of Champions. Look at all the previous winners. Okay, yeah. Who won last year? Let's see.
Oh, it was 32 chunk. So he's gotta see if he can hold down the crown for 2026. Yeah, last year more than 1.7 million votes were cast. This is pretty popular. Go do it.
It's fun. Alright, before I head out of here, uh, I'm gonna give some criminals some tips. Does that sound good? There we'll play the cop music in the background.
Um I'm not really gonna give tips other than don't be stupid. If you don't want to get caught, this guy, he was arrested in Missouri, uh, ended up confessing to a 17 vehicle vandalism spree. Because I guess the cops were questioning him about this after seeing him on some, you know, a guy who looked like him on some video and such, and they asked to look through his phone, where they found about an hour long text exchange with ChatGPT, where the guy asked how he could minimize any chance of getting connected to the crimes. Um I don't know what ChatGPT told him to do, but that was a pretty good confession right there that he was trying to figure out how to not get caught for the crimes that they were searching for him uh for. So yeah, your chat GPT transcripts.
This one was 30 pages long. They're they're saved, okay? Anything you do online is is saved. It's like another story I saw earlier where somebody used a rental car as a getaway vehicle for a robbery. Um, yeah, those all have trackers on them. Also, when you rent a car, you give them your ID and credit card.
They know who has the vehicle. But I guess without stupid criminals, the cops would be out of a job. So thanks to this guy for being stupid, and he also gave me content for the show before I head out of here to continue on doing my uh tedious behind the scenes work. So I hope you have a fantastic rest of the day. I'll be in tomorrow. I believe Lieutenant Crane's gonna be here for Traffic School, uh, powered by the advocates injury attorneys, and then a busy weekend ahead. Speaking of the advocates, gonna be going with Ben to X-Fest in Boise. I'll get a preview of the uh God Smack Tour that's coming our way, and uh get to home hang out with my homies from the Advocates as well as my homies from the X in Boise, who I haven't seen in uh a really long time.
So pretty stoked on that. Even if uh I'm exhausted. All right, appreciate y'all. Have a great rest of the day, and I still gotta give away that metallic album of the day. So make sure you keep listening.
I promise I'll do that by three o'clock. Thank you again for tuning in to the Victor Wilch Show. This program's a production of River Bend Media Group. To contact the show or for more information, hit us up at Riverbend Media Group.com.
