#0425 - Stephen King, GTA 6, The Double Jab, Acid Bath, and Christmas Metal - 09/17/2026

Speaker 1: What's up, people? Good day to ya. It's the Victor Wilt program. It's Thursday, right? Or is it Wednesday? I think it's Thursday. This week's been a mess. And then I, of course, slept like garbage. I don't think we were up that late. Then binge watch and Mindhunter.

Kind of sucks that we're almost done with it, but still a really good show. So, you know, nightmares all night. I don't remember them. The only one I remember was that I woke up and it was 1 30 p.m. And I hadn't called in to work or anything.

Hadn't contacted them whatsoever. And then I don't know, in the dream I was like dinking around, and it got to be like four o'clock, and I still hadn't called Jade and been like, uh, hey, dude, I I slept in a tiny bit till the very end of my shift, basically. Uh but then I uh woke up for one of the countless times that I did throughout the evening. So hopefully a better night of rest ahead tonight.

Cause uh yeah, tomorrow is not my Friday. As I've mentioned recently, gonna be doing a live broadcast on behalf of 105 the Hawk on Saturday. Gonna be hanging out at the Melaleuca Event Center, kicking it with Bullfrog Spaws. I just got my hot tub all cleaned up and uh ready to go for the cooler season that's well hopefully coming our way. I mean it hasn't been bad, so I don't know what I'm talking about. Uh it's been pretty nice.

It's been about perfect. Uh, but anyway, they're gonna have some great deals. You can come check out all of their amazing products, and I'm telling you, having a hot tub's pretty nice. Best time of year to pick one up, get it installed, get it ready to go right about now.

So you can, you know, on those crisp winter mornings, trudge on out there, have yourself a nice cup of coffee and sit in the hot tub. Heck yeah. So that's 11 to 1 on Saturday. Gonna be another one of those weekends where it'll probably feel like I didn't have a weekend, but that's alright. Anyway, um just waiting for the caffeine to kick in, people. Aside from that, uh, my arm hurts. Yeah, I'll do a little bit of whining about that. My arm hurts. It's my own fault.

Uh, didn't fall down or anything like that. I went and got the double jab. Oh. I I almost posted on Facebook about it, but people get so like sensitive and crazy.

I know somebody would yell at me. Yeah. Just for getting a couple uh vaccinations. But I I don't care. You you know, to each their own.

You don't want to get one, fine. But every year I get wrecked with something. It's either COVID or the flu. Last year it was the flu, and it sucked. It was so miserable, I thought I was gonna die. The year before that, it was COVID.

Same deal. It was horrible. Seems like every time I get one of those sicknesses, it's way worse than the last time. So double jab it is. Uh but yeah, my arm hurts. I'll be fine. Hopefully, I can find fun stuff to talk about today on the program. Um, Okay, we did the Metallica announcement yesterday. Trying to think, I accidentally deleted my to-do list before I left yesterday.

That was a bad move. I'll figure it all out though. Anyway, a little frazzled this morning. Wishing I was sleeping, but I'm sure you are as well. Look what time it is. Nobody wants to be awake right now, unless you have to, right?

So we'll we'll do our best to have some fun and crush this day as quickly as humanly possible. Alright, I opened a bunch of tabs here, and they're all just pummeling my tired brain here. First one that it's like, what why would you even click on it and open it?

Because I am me and I am dumb and I want to read something unpleasant apparently at this hour. What famous person died the worst death? Um, I'm not gonna go over these. because it's just depressing. Right at the top, Sharon Tate You know, talking about uh watching Mindhunter. I mean, the show's been out for a long time. I guess it's not a spoiler uh to say at one point during the show, since it's a show about these FBI agents who interview serial killers. Well, they interview Charles Manson. I guess he's not a serial killer, the cult leader, but uh I think we uh pretty much were ready to crash out last night.

Right when that part wrapped up in the episode. Can't wait to get back to that. Ugh, my bed was so comfy today. So let's skip over uh what person died the worst death. And let's skip over what's the worst physical pain you've ever felt.

There's another one I clicked on, and I started reading about all these horrible things that can happen to you. Um yeah, let's go with no on that. Let's close that tab. What else do we have here?

Alright. Parenting tips. Boring.

I mean, a lot of people could use some parenting tips, but oh, here's another one that uh I bet this is gotta be depressing. What is a job that was highly respected but is considered a joke now? Do I want to scroll through this and see when someone mention mentions uh radio personalities? Because right at the top, they got newspaper journalists. I mean, shout out to all the real journalists out there. I'm sorry that uh your jobs have been basically taken away because of uh sensationalist 24-hour TV news and uh basically all the news on the internet. Uh news has pretty much been destroyed in general because people don't, or most companies don't tend to just give you the news anymore. They have to give you their slanted angle on it. And then when they do report just the news, people complain.

They're like, oh, you guys are biased. Meh. Alright, so newspaper journalist, according to the internet, no longer respected, considered a joke. Ugh. No.

You know what's a joke? Anybody who works at a 24-hour news network. Like, I I can't watch any of them.

They all make me furious. I might have people call me a you know, lazy lib, but I don't watch CNN, alright. I ain't kicked back watching uh MSNBC.

No, I get it. They give you their version, and then you got like Fox and Newsmax that give you their version. Just give me the news. Alright? Your personalities aren't even that good. You know, sitting there in a suit doesn't make you any more believable. Why did news people always wear stupid suits? Like, I'm gonna gotta look professional.

You're a professional, you know, propaganda artist. You can wear a t-shirt, alright? Never trust a suit.

That's one thing you learn in radio. The suits, yeah. Not generally, uh, on the side of the uh the personalities there. So if it's a personality wearing a suit, you know it's bad.

Okay, I'm gonna skip the next one that people said because that'll get people mad. Bank manager. Why why is that considered a joke now? Um they said back in the day it was a very prestigious job with a great deal of influence and making decisions on loans. Tellers were considered working professionals. Um I mean, I think that's still a decent job, isn't it? Huh, interesting. I mean, a lot of a lot of uh, you know, thumbs up on that one. Hmm.

Uh that that would have never came to mind. Travel agent. I think it's rude to call these jobs a joke. Now I could be a travel agent. I if you need help booking a vacation, give me a little bit of money, I'll get you hooked up. I'm pretty good at uh finding deals.

Unless it comes to uh trying to find a decent deal to fly to Phoenix for my daughter's wedding. I really better get that taken care of. Uh we're like a month out and I still don't have a like a suit to wear because I'm too fat to wear my own suit. Ugh, should have stopped boozing about six months ago, and maybe I would have slimmed down enough that I could fit into the suit that I actually own.

So I'm gonna have to like rent one or something. Have I done that? No. Alright, let's get back to jobs that were highly respected but are now considered a joke. Alright, travel agent. Uh that stressed me out to even see that phrase. Don't want to look at those flights.

Let's see here. Uh elevator operator. That's because they they don't have them anymore. Unless you're at like a high-end hotel. And I would assume what was that ever considered a highly respected job to make the elevator go up and down. And I think elevator operators are being celebrated in this day and age, really. Electric Callboy with a fine track about the elevator operator. Law enforcement to a degree.

I think that's kind of always you know, there's always some bad eggs in there. Secretary. I I think that uh secretaries are perfectly well uh respected, right? There's bank manager again.

Okay, here we go. Yeah, like basically all politicians. Accurate, accurate. No matter which side. And I am not one of those centrist people, okay? I ain't no fence sitter.

Alright. I clearly lean one direction really far. But generally the people on uh that side are a bunch of centrists.

I don't you know useless do nothing Democrats. Yeah. Give us some radicals.

That's what I say. If it worked for MAGA, we we need the the Democrat MAGA. Alright, let's have all sides go completely insane. I've had enough of these do nothing fence sitters that just sit there and accomplish nothing. Yeah, because they're they're afraid to take a stand. Yeah.

Alright, let's see. Real estate agent. I think they're still useful. Uh, unless you enjoy doing paperwork. Journalist. Again, I already talked about the news. Real journalism, sadly. I I think it would be more respected if the news wasn't a joke. It's it's entertainment. It's not news. Let's see here.

Alright, people are just naming the same things over and over again. Librarian, who thinks librarians are a joke? Librarians have to put up with a bunch of bull crap, especially in Idaho.

Now I've talked to librarians here because of our like 1950s based rules on books and children. Give me a break. Still can't believe you gotta be 18 to go up to the young adult section. Yeah.

Or have a parent's permission. Boy, those Harry Potter books are scary. I just never leave this place. At least it feels that way.

It's like Groundhog's Day every day. Um, somebody was asking online if they were rude to their girlfriend's mom. And this this post is a little bit ridiculous to me.

Simply because of the age of the people involved. So the guy asks, you know, I'm traveling out of state and staying in my girlfriend's hometown for a night. Her mom does not want us to sleep in the same bed, and I am uncomfortable staying in someone else's home. I'm paying for a hotel.

Am I a jerk? So, yeah, apparently the parents offered to host the guy, but just said, no, you you can't sleep in the same room as your girlfriend. Alright, if they were say teenagers, sure I'd get it. But this is a uh okay, sorry, I had it backwards. This is a 25-year-old female. Anyway, I'm getting myself confused here.

Doesn't matter. Anyway, the the couple are each 25 and 24 years old. If you are a parent with a child that is 24 or 25 years old, uh, they are far past being an adult. If they're in a serious enough relationship that they're going to uh travel out of town together and stay out of town, visit the parents, blah blah blah. They're 25 years old. Just let them they're sleeping in the same room all the time, anyway.

Uh, and I would much rather get a hotel than sit stay at somebody's house anyway. That's just me. Um yeah, it it's just you got your own space, you know. You ever stay at somebody else's house? I certainly have, and I pretty much always can't wait to get back to my own house. Unless it's you know a hotel and I'm in a place that I enjoy.

Yeah. Being in other people's houses, it can be a little bit uncomfortable. So I don't think this guy's being a jerk, but uh I guess his girlfriend's mad, her mom's all mad, because a room got rented. Like, get over it. You know, what why be uncomfortable? Don't let other people stick you into uncomfortable situations, but just because, all right.

You gotta put yourself first ever every now and again. Okay, well, uh, what's the internet saying back? Oh, they're like, no, her mom's allowed to set conditions for hosting you.

Me, me, me, me, me. Well, the the mom's being ridiculous. We're talking about a 25-year-old, okay? Get over it. And I mentioned earlier, 1950s mentality. Uh it's 2026. Move along.

25 years old. Everyone on the internet's like, this seems like a reasonable compromise. I think the person didn't do anything wrong by deciding to get in a row get a room.

Jeez. Yo, dude, just go stay at the mom's house and be uncomfortable in a room by yourself. Well, it's gonna be all awkward and weird. Go ahead and do it.

Man, the internet's filled with some weird people sometimes. Alright, well, let's move along. I'm debating on cracking this energy drink, but I had a hefty instant coffee shooter this morning. Just doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Stupid sleep. Go. Talked a little bit about this yesterday, multiple times, but a conversation I was having with Becca just a minute ago on Facebook as I was looking for content, made me want to remind you that uh Google is not the place to find yourself tickets to events. Yeah, you know, I had some people hit me up yesterday that were like, I can't believe how expensive these Metallica tickets in Salt Lake are gonna be. I'm like, well, they're not on sale yet. The very earliest I've seen you can even possibly get them is on Monday if you're a member of the Metallica fan club, I believe. Um, I'll have a pre-sale code on Thursday. You need to go to Metallica's website and follow the links there, or the links we put on our concert calendar. If if you want to find tickets for the actual price, because scalpers are just horrible.

Uh Becca was looking at going and seeing this comic in Salt Lake, and she told me the prices, and I was like, what? You have gotta be kidding me. I mean, the guy's pretty big online, but uh the the club he's playing at, I've been there for comedy shows, wise guys in Salt Lake.

I'm like, there's just no way. I mean, I've seen fairly big name comics in that place, like Mark Marin. You know, he had the biggest podcast in the world for many years. Uh, one of the best stand-ups of all time, by the way.

I wish he was coming somewhere close on his current tour, but apparently not. But anyway, yeah. Somewhere online, people trying to shell out $30 tickets for 125 bucks. Bunch of bull crap. Scalpers are the worst. And the only reason that they're able to keep doing what they do is because, well, for one, Google likes to promote the secondary ticket market over, you know, venues websites and artists' websites and things like that. So they're like, go check out tickets available at StubHub or Vivid Seats.

Yeah, go ahead and pay five times the original ticket price. They make it very difficult for people to find tickets uh for reasonable prices. And I mean, a lot of shows the prices aren't even reasonable at face value. Like, I got a deal for tickets to 9-inch nails, and it was the most I ever paid for any show. Like, I don't know if I'd ever pay that much for a show again, but I really wanted to see 9-inch nails.

So, around 250 bucks a ticket. Oh! No wonder my debt's so high. Hey, that's you know, 2026.

Join the debt party, everybody. Alright, uh, so anyhow, don't buy tickets through the secondary market. Make sure that you go direct to an artist's website or you know, the venue's website, things like that. If you just go to StubHub, Vivid Seats, you know, any of those other sites, chances are you're gonna pay way too much money. Uh, there was a particular event happening uh here in East Idaho this weekend, and uh that was another one that I saw just ridiculous prices for popping up on the secondary market, but that one, the regular tickets were outrageous as well.

So uh sadly, I don't think I could fork over that kind of dough. Well, I don't I don't know how this many tours are managing to happen right now because people can't afford to go to all these different shows when the average band is charging like a hundred dollars a ticket for a small venue show. Anyway, um, glad I found us some cheap tickets, reasonably priced because like there is just no way.

That's like Dave Chappelle pricing. All Alright. Anyhow, we're making it through the morning.

Uh screw it. You know what? Time to crack a warm one, because this energy drink's been sitting here since yesterday.

And we'll see how bad I can uh make myself shake. That was falling in Reverse and Joseph featuring Corey Taylor and Serge Tankian. And there was a hot discussion going on on Facebook with some radio programmers about this song yesterday.

And one of the guys, sadly, he was a great programmer. And he's no longer in the business, been out for like eight years, and he was talking about this song, how he didn't personally like it. But that he would have to add the song to rotation, regardless of his personal feelings about the song, just because of the you know, superstar lineup. You got three of the biggest vocalists in rock and metal.

And also, I mean, the song has blown up just massive online. So even if you don't like it as a programmer, you you play what people want to hear, right? That's what I do. I am not a huge fan of lots of music we play on K-Bear, but my job is to serve the audience with the music that we play, not just me. Now, every once in a while, I'll be like, hey, I feel like listening to this song, so I'm gonna play it.

And I'll throw on something weird, Devin Townsend or something like that. Uh the falling in reverse song we just played. I like it because it is so weird. It's all over the place. It's not a standard rock song.

It's uh it's very proggy, and uh I like that kind of stuff. I can understand why the average radio programmer wouldn't like that, because you know, most of them have been you know doing this since back in the days of uh late 90s alternative and then the the nickelback era, and so anything remotely heavy or remotely weird, they're just not gonna go for it. But this guy, you know, he like I said, was all about adding it to rotation, and then he was I'm sorry, clearly the caffeine ain't working on train of thought.

Ah, I've been doing so good at the sleep thing, and then last night it just was not happening. But um anyhow, I jumped in and I'm like, dude, yes, every radio programmer should add it because it's such a big song. I'm like, but nobody's gonna add this except us and like I'm guessing like five other stations around the country.

The usual offenders, you know, us crazy people at like Razor in Wisconsin or Kelo in Colorado Springs, or you know, my homie Vinny at Octane. Those are those are like the only stations that are gonna play something remotely heavy. And so I looked it up to see how many stations across the country had played that song since it came out, even one time. I put the the little count at one. If they've played it one time, it'll show me how many stations have played it. In the entire country, only 15 stations have played it at least one time, and most of them have only played it one time, and out of those 15, only six of them, including us, played it outside of nighttime or the middle of the night. Radio ain't gonna play that song. It's way too heavy and way too weird.

They should play it, absolutely, but radio programmers are doing everything they can to help the suits destroy the business with their uh terrible playlists, ignoring the audience, ignoring trends, and probably doing some weasley uh wheeling and dealing or something like that. I don't know. I just know that when I brought up that list earlier, jobs that used to be you know prestigious and now are a joke.

Yeah. Thanks, guys around the country for what you've done to this business I work in. Everybody likes to blame the suits, but the gutless programmers are just as bad. Well, okay, they're not just as bad as the suits, but pretty much because it, you know, they're just chart following uh uh they're lazy, they're lazy and stuck in their ways. Most of them.

There are some good ones, but most of them lazy, stuck in their ways. So, what are people saying about this song online? It looks like uh, you know, fans in general either hate it because it's uh falling in reverse, or they hate it because it's weird, and they like falling in reverse, but they just don't get it.

Or they love it. Uh a lot of people don't like Ronnie Radke. I've interviewed him multiple times, I've met him multiple times. He was always nice to me, and he always uh well, or at least in one of the interviews, we were talking about his clashes with people online, and he told me, you know, it's a I'm it's a persona that I've got going online, and I don't think uh a lot of people get that. I mean, he's even off putting to me sometimes with what he does online, but having met him, uh, he was always really cool to me and things like that.

Uh, I think he's pretty good at getting press and doesn't care if it's negative press. So um. I don't remember what the point I was gonna have to wrap this up with was. My brain is just cooked this week.

Yesterday, I I think I asked Jade at least five just just stupid questions. And I'm like, sorry, man. My brain hurts. I don't know what to tell you. It's mush.

So uh, yeah, I like that song because it's weird. But don't expect to hear it on any other radio stations if you're heading out of town. They ain't gonna play that stuff.

Except maybe in the middle of the night, and still doubting that since only 15 in the whole country have played it at all. What the crap is going on with my computer all of a sudden? Of course it's gotta happen right when I'm jumping on air for freak news. Let's see if I can fix this here. Uh all right, yay. Jeez.

I must have just clicked something absent-mindedly that I shouldn't have. All right. Having a rough morning.

Yeah. You know, slept like garbage, kept waking up all night, nightmares, things like that. Did not want to get out of bed this morning, and then I was, you know, just feeling a little bit, you know, tired and you know, mentioned when I first got in, my arms kind of sore. I was like, oh, that's probably part of the reason I'm feeling a little bit uh, you know, just a little bit off.

Don't feel like sick or anything, just a little bit foggy or something. Uh I was at Walgreens yesterday, picking up a couple items, some necessities, and when I was walking in, I saw the sign, you know, free flu shots with most insurance. And I recalled last year when I got the flu and was like wrecked for a week and it got so bad. I mean, I I went to the doctor because I thought I'm I'm dying or something. Not just the flu, and it was horrible. So I was like, all right, I'm gonna get a flu shot. So I, you know, wander up to the pharmacy. And they're like, well, okay, is that uh all you want to get today? I'm like, well, what else you got?

Well, we got the COVID vaccination. All right, uh, can you do two at once? So, yeah, and I was gonna post a photo of my double bandaged arm.

You know, I had the two Walgreens band-aids. But I figure on social media, people just get to being very unreasonable. Like, if if you don't want to go get yourself a a flu shot or a COVID shot, that's that's fine, that's your business. But I was gonna be obnoxious and post something like, all right, look at this double jab.

Does that make me a communist? So anyway, we have my my arm kinda hurts, but uh I don't care. I don't care after uh that that last flu and that last uh last bout of COVID.

Yeah, that just I'll take the jabs. I do not ever want to feel that way again. Those were the two worst sicknesses I've ever had.

Sucked. So um what what what led me to thinking about this? I don't even remember. Like I said, my uh my brain's mush today. Just mush. But uh anyway, if uh any of you were wondering, yes, both of those uh vaccinations are now available.

Uh, because I think uh last time I checked, they had not released uh released them yet. Anyway, don't get mad at me, all right? I'm just giving out information to people. There are people who would like that information.

Let's not get a little tizzy over this. All right, we got a tourist in Venice who was charged well, I guess a surcharge of seven euros. I don't remember how the exchange rate works with Euros. I think seven euros is probably like 10 bucks or something, US. I'm just guessing. But anyway, they were sitting in this uh cafe, and they were playing music on their phone, so they charged him an extra 10 bucks. Uh I'm down.

I'm down. Cause chances are if somebody's playing music in public on their phone, it's garbage music that nobody wants to hear except the person playing it. If I was playing music off my phone in public, the average person wouldn't want to hear it. All right. You want to listen to some neurosis? Yeah, coming out of a phone, some nice sludgy uh doom. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Little little bit of industrial edge to it. Yeah.

Good stuff. Yeah, we should start finding people who make a bunch of racket with their phones in public. It's annoying. Yeah. Anyway, uh, good on them in Venice. Um for sticking it to them a little bit. If you're running a restaurant, there you go.

There's a way to make a little bit of extra dough. Oh, People in the U.S. would lose their mind, though. Probably have a meltdown, be a brawl in this store, make national news. Alright, more than 100 people gather in San Francisco to scream at the ocean. Sounds like my kind of activity.

Why? The Guttural Scream at the Sea event was organized by Danielle Egan. And uh, yeah, people just went out to the ocean and just yelling's fun. I'm sure you are aware that I enjoy yelling if you listen to this program often enough. Uh what can we go gather and scream at around here? The river.

Jensen's Grove. Yeah, they had a flyer for the event, and it uh shows you the many good reasons to scream. Uh and the flyer, they they needed to make a better flyer.

It looks like they made this in uh like I don't know, Microsoft Word. They're like, come scream at the sea. It's fun, it's free. It won't scream back. There's a lot of good reasons to scream, like, you know, the cost of rent. AI. You're just angry. It feels good.

It does. It does feel good to just I wonder what Kennedy at the front desk is thinking now as I just keep yelling. She's on the other side of the wall. Josh and Chantel trying to do their show down the hall.

They got the door open. I'm gonna aim my screams that way. All right, well, let's uh let's set one of these events up around here. Um scream because I've had nightmares all night. I was just reading about a movie that I really want to see.

I have talked about it on air. We're talking about the new Resident Evil movie. And you know, there's been a bunch of outrage about this movie from hardcore Resident Evil fans. Because it's a story that takes place in the Resident Evil universe, but I guess doesn't have any of the characters from the video games or anything like that.

Um, I seem to recall uh Resident Evil 7 taking a drastic uh departure from the previous games and only barely tying in to you know the lore. But the main problem with the people who are complaining about this movie is that it comes out tonight. No one has seen it. You got all these fans that are like, well, the most this movie has to do with Resident Evil is the name that's attached to it, bunch of bull crap. If you haven't seen it, you can't judge it.

Alright. They'll be like, I don't like that band. Well, have you listened to them? No. So you've never heard them? No. I just don't like them.

Why don't you give them a listen? No. Until you've seen the movie, you can't really pass judgment on it. Well, the critic reviews have started rolling in. And uh Resident Evil has broken the Rotten Tomatoes record for video video game adaptations with a 96% positive rating. Everybody is loving this movie, and I'm not surprised, because it's from director Zach Krager, who directed Weapons and Barbarian, two of the best horror films of the last decade. They're so good.

If you haven't seen Weapons and Barbarian, watch both of them. And Becca, we are going to Resident Evil this weekend. Uh I saw it's playing at the uh Cheap the cheap theater in downtown Idaho Falls. That place rules.

It's nice and small. Uh great deals on concessions, great deals on tickets. Heck yeah. Gonna go see Resident Evil. It's gotta be done.

So yeah. Um, reading through the comments on that post about how well the critics are receiving the movie. It is just so annoying.

It's like reading through comments on any kind of political post where you're like, dude, do you guys even read the article? Or yeah, if you haven't seen the movie, you can't judge it. So shut up, Resident Evil fans, and I'm a Resident Evil fan. Alright.

If you want to get the latest on what's going on with Leon, play Resident Evil Requiem, the latest game. There you go. It's alright to get out and enjoy a movie. Ugh. Anyway, I'm gonna go check that out. And uh, you probably should as well, if you're a horror fan, because it looks like it's gonna be pretty good. Well, I was just going through the posts in the K-Bear 101 Idaho Rock and Metal Group that I needed to approve.

And geez, Chase, rub it in listener chase. I guess spent uh what would that have been Tuesday night the 15th hanging out at the Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado watching Acid Bath Live? And he said it's his second acid bath show. Now I did get to see uh most of Acid Bath set at Sick New World, which was great. They're one of my all-time favorite bands, and getting to see them at all was awesome. But it was during the day, and I I don't know, seeing any band during the day, it's just not as good as at night.

And I don't know. Looking at the video that he posted, I'm just so jealous. I want to go to an acid bath headlining show.

They aren't coming anywhere close to here, like Seattle or Portland is about as good as it gets. Come on. So anyway, seeing that video, he posted a clip of the song Venus Blue, made me, as I mentioned earlier, want to listen to a song for myself. And maybe I'll turn you on to a band that uh you haven't heard and that you might really like. They are one of the greatest bands of all time.

Let's do Acid Bath, that song, Venus Blue. Well, we got Jay Davis in the house, and he's wearing a button-down shirt. I don't like it. I don't like it. You know what the button down means. I know I'm like I look good. That's right, all right.

I hope that's it. And we're gonna punch you in the arm. My arm is sore. I know I did uh I I told the listeners earlier I was going to try to be antagonistic on Facebook and basically post what I sent you and Josh in a text message. You know, does this make me a super communist? But uh I was like, nah, people online are a lot less uh reasonable than when I can explain myself on air. You don't have to go.

Speaker 2: And there's not a comment section for you on air. Uh there's the phone lines. Yeah, but you don't answer them.

Speaker 1: I was answering them when you walked in the room.

Speaker 2: It's only because you saw me in my button-down shirt.

Speaker 1: Whatever. I'm a phone answering machine, dude. The phone's been blowing up all day. All day. And I even answered it in the middle of a song I wanted to hear. So, anyhow, what's uh what's up with you?

Speaker 2: Uh no, hold on. I'm curious. Did we already play Christmas music this year?

Speaker 1: Um, I I think I did play some

Speaker 2: Christmas music because I'm gonna go back to the case. I worked that there was another station trying to beat us to the punch, but I thought we already did that.

Speaker 1: Yeah, K-Bear always beats every other station with the punch.

Speaker 2: the punch. There's a station around that rhymes with poopy. Oh, really? That uh apparently was playing a Christmas tune this morning. Oh, Okay. So, we probably need to put one in for rebuttal's sake.

Speaker 1: All right. Um, how about the best one? Typo negative, Red Water. There you go. That now that is a Christmas song. Take that poopy. Yeah. Poopy. And I mean, if you're gonna play a Christmas song, play a good Christmas song. Like country Christmas songs are not good.

Speaker 2: The Santa Claus one from corn.

Speaker 1: Yeah, kidnap the Santa Claus. There you go. I need to have a little chat with Josh. About our upcoming Christmas music on Classy. I think we need to just slip that one in every once in a while. Yeah. What's going on here?

Speaker 2: The Christmas music station. Exactly. So no one else counts except for K-Barr when we play it early. Exactly.

Speaker 1: And we are going to play some typo negative Red Water. Where is that song? Is it called something else?

Speaker 2: Maybe just put in kidnapping. There it is. Santa Claus instead.

Speaker 1: Uh well, I found it. Okay. And it'll give you and me uh six and a half minutes to sit here and uh talk. And it's a very uplifting Christmas song. It's very cheery festive. Here we go. Old people. Old people need to stop making decisions. They really, really do. Um, I I've complained about old people plenty this morning.

Speaker 2: I'm just talking about the AM in general.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't get it. I didn't get into that discussion. Um, but radio is currently fighting the good fight to make sure that vehicle manufacturers keep AM radios in those cars. And it's like, all right. And all the guys who are in the news articles that are fighting this fight. I mean, these guys gotta be in their 80s.

Speaker 2: Yeah, because it reminds them sitting in front of the noise box as a kid listening to War of the Worlds.

Speaker 1: Back when I was a boy, we thought the world was gonna end.

Speaker 2: Hey, I have a real to real tape in my office of War of the Worlds. You can have it.

Speaker 1: Oh man. Dude, I I you know, when you're that age, why why wouldn't you retire? I just don't get it. If I'm working, okay. If I live to 80, I'd be amazed.

Speaker 2: However, like I said, you said, if we live to be 80, won't it be fun to be that old annoying? Like guy on the on the front patio in your rocking chair, flipping off little kids as they walk by.

Heck yeah. Because you're just like, oh, he's just a little old man. Just give him a break. Yeah. I wouldn't want I'm gonna be good. Entertain him with whatever. What can we complain about that might be going away?

Speaker 1: Let's see. Yeah. Bring back the original Nintendo! Back in my day, we had real video games. You had to use a controller. Who wrote the arcade back? That's right. I remember Pachinko machines in Pinball! I just me I mean, if I could retire today, I would. I totally would.

Speaker 2: You would never see me again. No! If I had enough money to just go live until I passed, you would never see me again.

Speaker 1: I mean, they do tend to say that a lot of uh men, once they retire, they just pretty much die. So that's the only reason I can think for a lot of these guys keeping work. You know, because I mean if you're up I mean 65, that's like the top, I'd say for working. You know, if you're if you're in your 80s, what are you doing?

Speaker 2: Try not to take that dirt nap, maybe. But in that case, why don't you just go do what you want to do instead of what you have to do? Yeah, you can still have the mentality of this as work. I guess, yeah. For purpose sake. Yeah.

Speaker 1: But you're running out of time, buddy. You know, enjoy life a little bit. Lieutenant Crane's gonna go.

Speaker 2: a pog set and play pogs.

Speaker 1: I remember I remember when we had pogs, we need to bring them back. It was a fun game. You know, We had a slammer. we'd play it at the school lunch tables. Slam it down. Now they got spanned.

Speaker 2: Oh man. Speaking of pogs, uh the Idaho Falls is doing like this uh neon glow downtown party thing this Saturday. I forget what it's actually called, but Z103 is gonna be there. Okay. And uh they're gonna have glow in the dark pogs. Z gonna have glow in the dark pogs. Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 1: Where's the glow in the dark victor pog? It's sitting right in front of me.

Speaker 2: Am I glowing?

Speaker 1: Oh no, that's what happens when you get the double jab. Hearts gonna explode! Out No, I out of curiosity. I uh took my blood pressure like a few hours after I got the double jab just to see, you know, like I had the best blood pressure I've had in months. Like, wow, it looks great. That's a fantastic.

Speaker 2: You should have taken yours earlier that morning.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, if it was uh during yesterday's work day, I'm sure it would have been a little bit different. Oh well, um so what's this neon glow thing?

Speaker 2: I I forget what it's called. Uh it's with uh downtown development and uh IF Arts Council and It's going down on uh A Street and what is it, Constitution.

Speaker 1: See, this is a different one. It says glow party, but that's glow party. That's this one says next month.

Speaker 2: Uh this one's like Saturday. And they're gonna have a 90s mixtape band. I guess they're from the UK.

Speaker 1: A nineties mixtape band.

Speaker 2: Yep, playing a bunch of nineties.

Speaker 1: That could either be really good or really bad.

Speaker 2: I listen to some of their stuff and they sound pretty decent. Like what type of songs? Everything from Fuji's to like uh some green day. Okay. It's a little of everything.

Speaker 1: Because you and I know that some of the music out of the 90s is terrible. I mean, so bad.

Speaker 2: Especially when it uh has a twang to it.

Speaker 1: Yeah, country music out of the 90s, the worst. Well, I don't know. When we, you know, we're throwing together throwback 103.

Speaker 2: Oh, there's some bad stuff in there too.

Speaker 1: The 90s pop. Like, I didn't remember being that horrible. It was so bad. And plenty of 90s rock too. Oh, yeah. You know, I always thought like the night late 90s, about the best time for music. I know I think now it's the best time for music.

Speaker 2: Every every decade has their their good and their bad. Yeah, yeah. Because there's really crappy rock music right now, too.

Speaker 1: Oh, for sure.

Speaker 2: I'm saviors of rock! No, this is just crap. You're just old. You old man!

Speaker 1: Yeah, I uh was talking earlier about the new falling in reverse song. Oh, that was great. It's a great new song, and uh there was a guy, you know, as is common in radio, he's no longer in the business programmer I met at uh convention about a decade ago, and he was talking about the song and how he doesn't like it, but he would add it, you know, so he he's wouldn't be surprised to see every station in the country playing it. And I was like, dude, you are overestimating rock radio. I'm like, nobody's playing that song.

Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna play it. It's too in your face.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh extremely heavy. It's uh very weird. It doesn't have a hook, no chorus.

Speaker 2: It's got some opera in it.

Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's all over the place. Ronnie with his Woo! Yeah, very progressive, and uh I like dude. I bet you that uh like hardly anybody's played it at all. And I looked it up on Media Base. Fifteen stations across the country have played it at least one time.

Um only six of them have played it outside of nights or overnights. Of course, one of them's it's all the stations we know. All our you know, homies. There's like five stations in the country.

Speaker 2: All the ones that learn from old people that haven't learned how to not listen to old people in And radio.

Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. There's more now the old people. Which is weird. But we're not. We're still the young guys in the rock programming biz and personality biz. Oh, what's this new music falling in reverse? Oh, it's too crazy.

I like that one he put out with jelly roll. A little bit more to my taste. It's more accessible to the audience. Sitting back in front of the noise box.

Right, I would like to hear this coming out of AM speaker in mono. Okay. Want to remind you to come see me on Saturday real quick. I'm gonna be up broadcasting live on behalf of the Hawk. I'll play the little promo for that in a minute, so make sure to listen to that thing that plays after I'm done yapping. Would love to see lots of K-Bear army show up for my country remote.

Should be a good time. Uh what else do we have? I mean, just so much bad news. I'm trying here. Yeah, it's getting tough this morning.

Shouldn't have uh used up what I had earlier. Um if you're thinking of moving to New York, you can make a little bit of extra money. They've raised the uh snow shoveler pay to $30 an hour.

I don't know how you know how well that's gonna get you by in New York City. But uh, hey, it's 12 bucks more than they were paying last year. Can you imagine? Dude, shoveling snow living in New York for like 18 bucks an hour. I mean, eighteen bucks an hour sucks around here. You know, it's gotten to be so expensive. I I've seen people complaining about gas prices in other places. Some guy, I don't even know where he was, but he posted uh picture of 87 octane gas for 407, and he's raising a ruckus. Like, dude, where are you at?

That sounds you know pretty good right now. Uh, had to use all my stinker points to put gas in my truck. Ugh between my vehicle and Becca's in the last week. I think 160 dollars in gas.

I'm averaging about 80 bucks a week. Because I, you know, I drive a truck, it's a gas ghostly. Why don't you get a car, bro? Yeah, I go look at the car prices, that's why. Would you shovel snow for 30 bucks an hour here?

I mean, even here. That's such a miserable job. I don't know if I'd do it. I mean, if you get into overtime, 45 bucks an hour. Now, the 45 an hour to snuff shovel snow.

I hate snow so much. I I still don't think I'd even get out for that. I don't know.

45 bucks an hour, you know, it's a decent. Uh what else did we have going on? Florida. I was reading this uh story about uh they had a bill introduced to ban marrying your first cousin in Florida. What do you think the Florida government did? Yeah, they didn't pass the bill. Um like even Idaho, we've looked into this before.

Because I don't know, we run low on content. Can you marry your first cousin in Idaho? And I think the Idaho law, if I recall correct, it's like you have to be a certain age, like way too old to have kids, and then they let you do it.

Um Because, yeah, you know, that can lead to uh problems for the baby. Uh maybe that explains a lot about why we have all those Florida band stories. I don't know. But you'd think that would be a no-brainer law to pass, right? I don't know what's going on in this world. You know, they they should have never turned on the large Hadron Collider. That's when everything started getting weird.

They blasted us into the worst timeline. Uh but you can make 30 bucks an hour shoveling snow in New York City. That's some kind of uh positive, I guess, for snow shovelers there.

Wages almost doubled. God, I hope we have a winner like last year. I know it's not good for the West.

I know it's bad. Drought is not good, but I really liked last winter. I did not have to bust out my snowblower one time. Not a single time.

It was great. Uh, but I'm ready to use it. I had to get a new one last year.

I should have saved the m well, they probably cost twice as much now as they did a year ago, so maybe it's good I got it when I did. All right, uh, I'm just babbling. I'll shut up. Yeah, earlier Jade and I were talking about how you got all these radio guys fighting with the FCC and vehicle manufacturers to ensure that we keep AM radio available in cars. You're gonna fight with the FCC.

Who won't let me be or let me be me? Um can we fight with them about the stupid language restrictions? I know I complain about it often enough, but it's 2026, okay? It's not 1950 anymore. Yeah, you your kids can fire up YouTube and hear any word you could possibly imagine.

Alright. I know some videos will require you to be logged in, but when you upload a video, you have to set it that way. Most people don't.

You know, there ain't the artists out there that are like, oh, you gotta log in to see my video, unless it's like an Ice Nine kills horror movie video or something like that. Anyway, um, hope you enjoyed that. Just listening to the radio edit of that, because I haven't heard it for a really long time. Just made me realize how stupid the modern well, the antiquated rules we have to follow in the modern age, are when it comes to just playing music for people.

Give me a break. And that's an old song, too. Uh sorry to anybody who is unhappy that I uh played a little rap music. I just don't care.

You know, I do what I want. Crazy. Uh, you know what else is crazy? Getting uh trampled to death by an elephant, that would be pretty crazy. And, you know, I don't want to see anybody get uh trampled to death by an elephant. But if you're gonna be out poaching rhinos and a pack of elephants, just mows you down.

Ah, you're kinda asking for it. Animals are, as we talk about often on this program, sick of people. They're fed up, had it with our crap. So these two poachers in South Africa broke into Kruger National Park. They were wanting to uh uh poach a white rhino. I thought the white rhino was extinct.

Am I losing my mind here? I mean it says white rhino herd. Let's see. Uh white rhinoceros. Near threatened.

Okay, it must have been something else I'm thinking of. Anyway, these two poachers, they break into this park and they're tracking these rhinos. And I guess a big herd of elephants just saw them and just mowed them down. Now, they ran in two different directions. One of them, as I mentioned, trampled to death by the elephants.

The other guy, he's in jail. Because poaching is not uh or it's frowned upon everywhere. If you're a poacher, you're a your dirtbag.

Alright, sorry. We we better not have any poachers listening to the show. Listen, I come from a family of hunters.

I used to sell guns. Yeah, you know, uh, all you guys who like to go victory get up on the soapbox. No. No. You can uh you can be an individual and decide what you think about issues one by one.

You don't have to join one of the two clubs, all right? And then follow them like a loyal lemming. Uh anyway, I think poaching is terrible. That's there's a reason that we have tags and things like that, uh, licenses required so that the animal populations can be properly controlled. This isn't a conservation effort here.

You know, I I don't even want to get on the subject of trophy hunting. Um, you know, over over in Africa and things like that. I think that's strange.

I don't know. I I can understand, you know, how people hunt around here, I guess. And generally, people around here, even if they, you know, say mount the the animal, get it taxidermy, they they use the meat, they use the animals for a purpose. Alright, these guys are just trying to make money slinging rhino horns because you can make tons of money off them because there's still people out there that think if you grind up a rhino horn and mix it with the herbs and stuff, you've got a magic cure for all your ailments. Um another reason that these poachers are dirtbags. You know, not only are they poaching animals, but they're taking the parts of them to sell them for uh pseudoscience uh snake oil to people who don't know better. So, again, I'm I'm not gonna say I'm happy to see elephants trample someone to death, but somebody who'd break into a national park to try to poach a white rhino.

Uh, you're kind of a piece of crap. So it's not the first elephants trampled people story we've had in the last what month or so. Animals are getting fed up. You might not want to go outside anymore. So here in that song reminded me that we're we're getting close to Halloween music time here on K-Bear. K Bear's Rock and Halloween.

It's gonna be awesome this year. And the Ramones, of course, have that great song, Pet Cemetery. I almost played it, but Becca's currently in the middle of that book, and I don't know if the song has any spoilers. I listened to a recent interview, last podcast on the left did with Stephen King and his son Joe Hill. And they asked him about that song, and according to legend, and I if I recall correct, it was confirmed by Stephen King that uh oh what's his name, The Singer of the Ramones.

It's an easy one to remember, too. But anyway, um, he was hanging out at Stephen King's house. Told him about the story, went back, wrote the song in like an hour, bam, done.

Pretty crazy. Uh anyhow, I'm very excited to see what Becca thinks of that book as she finishes it, and then we can watch the movie. That movie when I was a child was the scariest movie I'd ever seen. I don't know at what age I watched it, but it was obviously too young, because I mean it terrified me. Now, I watched it a couple years ago, and you know, at my age, it wasn't that scary. All right. But for a little kid, oh and so then I told her, you know, you gotta read The Shining.

Um, that's another topic that came up on that interview I listened to. Stephen King hates the movie The Shining. He admits it's a good horror movie, but it's a terrible adaptation. We've talked about this before. I know if you're a regular, sorry. But if you have never read the book, The Shining, you're seriously missing out. The movie is a great horror movie.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's a fantastic horror movie, but it's a terrible adaptation of the book. Like, I without giving any spoilers to Becca, I told her, you know, it's a story about alcoholism. That's that's basically what the story's about. And the movie has none of the heart that's in the book. Like, I'd like to say so much more about the book, but I I don't want to give out any spoilers, even though that book is older than me. Um but the book's so just so different than the movie. There's obviously gonna be similarities.

You got the family taking care of the hotel during the winter months. Um, but the way the story plays out, it it's just a totally different feel. And uh, you know, as someone who is uh you know, currently booze free, and that's been something that I've struggled with plenty over the years. Uh that book has a very special place in my heart. I think it's uh one of the best stories about alcoholism ever. And you're really missing out if you've never read that book. Again, the movie is a great horror movie.

It's just a terrible version of the shining. So, yeah, Becca, you need to read that. Read that next.

Those are easy short ones. You know, Becca hadn't really read Stephen King, and if you're a longtime listener, you gotta know that's my favorite author. Um, you know, I I could have been like, all right, here, just start with the stand, but that's like 1200 pages. Um, you know, it's it's a project reading some of those bigger Stephen King books like The Stand or It or 112263. All three of which are masterpieces, and no matter how good, like the new It movie, it's a really fun, great horror movie.

Or I guess there's two of them. Terrible adaptations of the books. You know, uh, that's generally the case with Stephen King. If you want to watch a good Stephen King adaptation, uh, they did a pretty good job with the long walk. Um, the Shawshank Redemption is probably the best Stephen King adaptation, and then the Green Mile's pretty good. But it the Green Mile gets into that territory where it the story's a little too long to pack it into one movie.

They did pretty good with it, though. But you know, we got the winter months approaching. Reading's good for your mind. It's a good brain exercise, and the books are I yeah, I'm one of those guys. The books are always better than the movie. Yeah, I see some people get mad. Ah, these people that are always like books better than the movie.

There's a reason they say that, because it's true. Are there any examples out there of movies that are better than the book? I think that um we've looked this up before. Movies that are better than the book. And I think usually like Forrest Gump comes up, which I thought the Forrest Gump book is awesome. It's nothing like the like you think they made a lot of changes in the shining. The Forrest Gump movie is basically not like the book at all. Aside from there being the character Forrest Gump. The book is nuts. He you know ends up being a pro wrestler.

I think he ends up going to space with a monkey. It's crazy. The book is unhinged and nuts. Alright, 24 movies that are actually better than the book that they're based on. Uh have not read or seen To All the Boys I've Loved before, so I can't judge that. I don't think I've seen The Devil Wears Prada. Have not read the Hunger Games. I have seen the movies.

Uh they're okay, but again, they're I've talked about this before. A ripoff. Um what's the name of that Japanese movie? That's so good. Oh, holy cow, you want to see the real Hunger Games? Hunger Games. I mean, the Hunger Games kind of ripped off the long walk by Stephen King, too.

Hunger Games ripped off. Oh, Battle Royale. Battle Royale. You want to see an awesome Hunger Games? Watch the Japanese movie Battle Royale. It is great. All right, we got somebody calling here. Let's see what they want. K bear, you are live on the show. Keep that in mind. Who's this?

Speaker 3: This is J.

Speaker 1: Crazy Jay. Uh turned out in radio, please. And uh, what's up, dude?

Speaker 3: Uh, nothing much. You forgot the Stephen King uh book, The Stand.

Speaker 1: I I mentioned the Stand as uh I didn't believe you did.

Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a masterpiece, one of the greatest books of all time.

Speaker 3: I thought the miniseries was great.

Speaker 1: They did a decent job with what you can do on broadcast TV, you know, broadcast TV has those same stupid rules that radio does. Uh, so they did they did pretty good, but that book is so long you'd need to you know do like a 10-part HBO series, or at least, you know,

Speaker 3: to uh like the miniseries like they did with this uh they did it with uh stand and the shiny, they did a mini-series The Shining

Speaker 1: Miniseries the shining mini-series was much more faithful to the book. Um but it it I don't know, I think it because it was made for TV, it just it was lacking a little bit in quality, but they they did do a better job of telling the story of the shining, which um again, Kubrick's movie is great, but uh they just you you lose all the the heart and feeling that's in that book.

Speaker 3: So yeah, but a lot of times that's what happens when you turn a book into a movie.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Very very few movies are uh better than the book. So I mean, curious to see what what else pops up on this list.

Speaker 3: So okay, all right. I'll let you go.

Speaker 1: I good to hear from you, Jay. I hope you have a good week, man. You too. Peace. Crazy Jay, everybody. Good taste in books. Uh, there's Forrest Gump. It pops up here. You know, bet movie that's supposedly better than the book. Again, a great movie.

Forrest Gump, great movie. Nothing like the book, and I could imagine that maybe the average person they read the book and they're like, what is happening? What is this? This book is insane. You should read it.

Forrest Gump the book. All right. Uh, haven't seen Gone Girl.

I know. I was I I think Becca was telling me I need to watch that. Haven't seen the perks of being a wall flower, haven't seen the notebook. That's another one she wanted me to watch. I'm like, uh, can we watch something else? Fight Club. I haven't read the book.

I have it. Um, and okay. Buzz feed, you're done.

You're done. They put the shining on the list as a movie that's better than the book. No, no, it's not.

It's a great horror movie, but it's not, it's not even the same story. You gotta be kidding me. Get out of here. Stardust, haven't read the book. I have it. Uh yeah, I guess a lot of these I have uh I've not seen the movie. Harry Potter and the prisoner of Ascaban. You think the movie's better than the book?

I doubt it. All of the Harry Potter books are way better than the movies, all of them. Jurassic Park, I thought the book was better.

It was cool. Okay, this one. This is gonna be controversial take.

But I do agree with this, and I've made a lot of people mad with this controversial take, and it's not political. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies. I would say are better than the books. I have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy once, maybe twice. And I just forced myself through it. Just the endless walking and walking and what oh, those books are a slog. Uh Cable, you're live on the show. Keep that in mind. Who's this?

Speaker 4: Mark. Mark, what's up, dude? Hey, um, yeah, I'm just wondering if these are books by Stephen King, because I read believe uh Thinner and Needful Things.

Speaker 1: Uh Needful Things is Stephen King. What was the one you said before that? Thinner. Thinner. Yeah. Yeah, that's a Stephen King movie as well.

Speaker 4: Um I think it was an adapted movie, or not movie, but uh TV series. Yeah.

Speaker 1: The Thinner was a movie, Needful Things was a TV series. I seem to remember, you know, that they were okay. I I don't remember Needful Things the show very much. Uh, but that I really enjoyed that book, and I I do recall being disappointed a bit with some of the things they left out. But it's another one of those really long books that uh, you know, that you can only pack so much into a movie thinner. It seemed like they did okay, but the book's much darker. Yeah.

Speaker 4: So I grew up on all those ones that you you've named. The The Shining and The uh. Sand. So yeah, I just remember those from my youth. Yeah, I mean I never read the book,

Speaker 1: so I've probably read The Stand and The Shining. I mean, at least three times a piece. Uh they're just so so good. I would I would highly recommend to anybody out there. You know, pick one of those books up. It's like uh pet cemetery. I was like, Becca, you gotta read this. It's so good. That that movie they did a pretty decent adaptation of the old one. The new version that they put out a few years ago was such a steaming pile. Uh well, I couldn't believe it.

Yeah, it was awful. So hey, have a good one. Hey, you two, Mark. Good to hear from you. Thanks, Mike. Peace.

All right, everybody. I gotta take a quick break. I'll be back. And uh, I'm working in studio like all day, so we're gonna continue doing Yellow Wolf ticket giveaways throughout the day. I'm gonna give some more away right now. 208535 1015, caller number 13, two tickets to Yellow Wolf and Highly Suspect heading up the Mountain America Center on October 11th. Call me now, 208535 1015, caller number 13.

Good luck. What up, people? Welcome to the noon hour of madness and mayhem.

I am your host, Victor Wilt today. Flying solo, and I'll do my best to give you a good program. Despite flying solo today, but no guarantees. Kind of like no guarantees that you're gonna make it to your destination when traveling without some idiot driving recklessly and causing an accident. Yeah, you know, every Friday morning we talk about these kind of things during traffic school, powered by the advocates. Uh if some idiot injures you on the road, because people are definitely driving like fools.

There's this guy in Florida that we'll get to. If somebody injures you, call the advocates, okay? It's free to call them, free to have a consultation.

You won't pay anything until they actually win your case. I mean, you could be dealing with something like this idiot driving in Florida who is putting on deodorant while driving his pickup truck, goes around a well, I guess tried to go around a curve in the road, and well, I didn't quite make it. Uh it went up over a concrete barrier.

Luckily didn't you know seriously injure anybody or anything like that because it was on the freeway. I mean, I get not wanting to stink, okay. We always encourage you to put on deodorant before going to shows.

I recommend a full-on shower. You know, nobody likes the stinky guy or gal. I'll throw you both under the bus in the pit. Um, but yeah, if you're running behind, wait till you hit a stop sign at least to put on deodorant while driving down the road.

I'm I'm trying to envision this. Because you're definitely, I mean, gonna have to one hand it, then you gotta switch, and you might be driving with your bad hand. It's just stupid, and you're gonna end up, you know, hurting yourself or others. It's Florida, so I shouldn't be surprised, but yeah, if you deal with anything like that, some idiot, some moron, some aggressive, reckless driver hurts you or a loved one. You need to call my homies at the advocates.

That's right. I was trying to get Ben to come in tomorrow for traffic school. I don't know what we're gonna do tomorrow because Lieutenant Crane is on vacation.

Ben is gonna be out of town. So it might be some ask me almost anything kind of kind of deal. We'll see how it goes. But I can guarantee one thing.

I will put my deodorant on before I leave the house. Okay. Alright, now that GTA 6 is basically about to be released. We got about two months to go. Man, I hope that uh if there's any time, the time rockets by, it's the next two months. Because I I gotta get that October done with and get to playing GTA. At least the internet has settled down, and we're not seeing a whole bunch of just speculation and rumors, and oh, this is gonna be in the game and this isn't, and blah blah blah blah blah.

Yeah, it's pretty solid at this point. News articles popping up about GTA 6 are accurate. Now, what am I seeing across social media? All kinds of Red Dead Redemption 3 stuff.

I've seen as basic as you know, Red Dead Redemption 3 is under development. Wow, what a what a good guess. What a great prediction.

No kidding. The what third, I think the third best selling game of all time, or else it's number four, Red Dead Redemption 2. Yeah, they're probably gonna work on another game. But I'm seeing all kinds of other things where people are like, oh, well, this is what the game's gonna be about. Dude, GTA 6 hasn't even come out yet. I bet we don't hear any solid information on Red Dead Redemption 3 for like 10 years.

At least. Man, that's crazy to think I'll be in my probably mid-50s when Red Dead Redemption 3 comes out. Oh, hello! I'm I'm very old now. You're never too old for video games, though. Never too old for some Red Dead 3. Um, honestly, a lot of uh the Red Dead community, because I guess I'd consider myself part of that since I'm such a nerd for that game.

A lot of them are fighting back and forth about where they hope the series goes next. Um, if you're unfamiliar with Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, part two is a prequel to part one, uh, which was a pretty unique setup and had a lot of people kind of nervous before part two came out. They're like, hey, we like the character from part one, who's this new guy? I don't like it, and then you know, of course, everybody just well, not everybody, but the the Red Dead fanatics, they love part two, and they love the main character of that game.

So a lot of people are you know fighting about where they go next. Should they just do an all-new cast, or go back even further? A prequel to the prequel. And I've gotta say, as a Red Dead nerd, I hope they continue on the path they've been going. There's so many different options that they could do with where part two begins and what happens before that, they could go a long ways back. I say they make it a combination of like bully, you know, the old Rockstar game bully.

Yeah, what if you were uh like a teenager uh Red Dead character from part two, and you get to see how the whole gang comes together. I mean, it could be taking place in you know, full-on cities. There was a part when I was playing uh Red Dead 2 recently where Arthur Morgan just mentions Boston and how he didn't like it, and I'm like, okay, this is giving me ideas here. What did they all you know grow up in Boston? What if they like took Liberty City from GTA 4, which is basically New York City? Add boss, they could do like the whole uh New England. There we go.

That's the phrase I'm looking for. The whole New England area and have it connect with the areas from part two. I don't know, I'm probably getting a little bit too here in depth here with uh people who aren't familiar with this game, but I just think it's dumb that all of these you know video game news sites will put out these speculative stories with zero solid information behind them. I mean, it's a good way to get clicks, I guess.

Kind of like being a politician, you know, just rage bait people. I need to start making that Facebook money. I talked about it on the morning show, but there's this one uh politician from Wyoming.

I guess he's not really a politician because he didn't win, didn't even win his primary, but he just endlessly rage baits online, and it's hard not to engage with him because he's so much so much of a puddin head, but I guarantee that guy's making some some good dough off of his stupid rage bait Facebook post. Yeah. Um, if you're my Facebook friend and I start just seeming completely unhinged, uh, sorry. I need the money.

Well, times are tough, things are expensive. Ah, nice relaxing end to a song. Makes me want to take a nice little nap. Cause I never get enough sleep. Maybe somebody needs to pay me to sleep.

Does anybody out there want to pay me to go to bed earlier? Well, 1100 undergraduates at University of Pittsburgh, they got paid a whopping five dollars a night to sleep seven hours, and it ended up getting them better grades. They did a study with these 1,100 undergraduates. Now, they did give them a Fitbit, you know, a smartwatch type thing that sends bedtime reminders and morning feedback, tracks their sleep, and uh, they paid them five bucks a night for every night they slept at least seven hours over the course of a month.

Um, I mean that could add up. Are they giving them weekends as well? Uh I mean, it's only 35 bucks a week, if so, but still it's 35 bucks to do something that's great, and that's sleep. You know, as somebody who wakes up at the god awful hour I do, if you listen during the six o'clock hour, you know, some some days, I am just not having it. And it's because I don't get enough sleep. Um, maybe uh Becca, are you listening? You want to give me a fiver and be like, go to bed? Gotta turn the TV off, though.

That's my problem. Too much good stuff to watch. Been re-watching Mindhunter. Almost done with that.

But I got enough episodes to keep me up late tonight. Left, so we'll see. Five bucks a night. It's better better than nothing.

And they got a free Fitbit out of it, and it helped their grades. You should try to get good sleep. Don't be me. Don't stay up too late if you work at 6 a.m. You know you have to be up super early.

Go to bed. It might make you feel like an old man. You know, especially during the summertime. Going to bed while it's still light out, but that's what blackout curtains are for.

And they're great at all times of the year. Because if you want to pretend it's nighttime and nap during the day, yeah. Turn that room into a pitch black, cool cave. It's the best. Blackout curl curtains uh highly recommended by me.

Hey, Christmas is right around the corner. I don't know what they cost nowadays, but you know, make sure you get the really thick ones and that are 100% blackout as well. You get the cheap ones, they they don't really black everything out, they're just dark curtains. Alright, I need to stop thinking about my blacked-out bedroom, cozy bed. Listen to the soothing sounds of a saxophone from sleep token and drifting off to sleep. Maybe I'll try to go to bed earlier tonight. Doubt it. But you should go to bed, alright? It'll help your grades and work and blah blah blah.

Sorry, I can't give you five bucks though. So earlier I was talking about Red Dead and GTA 6. The first time I heard the word fence being used as anything other than like that sport fencing or the pieces of wood lined up in your yard that were blocking your view of the neighbors. Yeah, first time I heard that word used any other way was playing Red Dead, and in that game, the fence is the place where you take your stolen goods and you sell them for profit, and then you assume you know they they're gonna resell it for a profit. So place to buy stolen goods and resells them. Thought it was just some old term, because first time I heard it again was in Red Dead Part 2, but apparently it's still a thing. I was reading an article just a few minutes ago about a crime ring busted in Florida where this uh I don't know if they were a couple, but you have two people that were spearheading this baby formula scheme where they would hire professional shoplifters to go steal baby formula from department stores and such.

They'd sell them to the suspects for roughly $10 a can, and apparently the the fence would resell them for retail price, which they say is $50. Now, I haven't had a baby in my life since I was much younger. My kids are all grown up. Is baby formula really $50 a can? That's what this article says. Let's get on Amazon here. Alright.

Don't give your baby goat milk. Oh, geez. Alright. Uh okay. You know, there it is. Similac. I remember that brand. $43 for a can.

How are how are mothers getting by? You know, and before you're like, well, they could just do it the natural way. Sometimes there are reasons that you have to have formula.

Okay. I'm not a mom, but I know there are a variety of reasons that uh a woman may choose to or need to use formula for her baby. But at $50 a can? That's crazy. That's no wonder people are stealing it and reselling it.

Holy crap. I guess uh laundry detergent. Not getting locked up in grocery stores anymore. Now it's just baby formula. $50 a can. And these are like regular old size cans. From what I recall, not that big. Holy cow. Anyway, they got busted.

Because that's what tends to happen. Was this in Florida? Yeah, it was in Florida. Of course, a baby formula scheme isn't gonna happen in Florida. I can't wait.

For GTA 6, which is taking place in Florida. You know, it's gonna be nuts. So yeah, they uh got nine of the shoplifters, they got the two who spearheaded the whole operation. They're being charged with conspiracy to commit racketeering. Uh two counts of director of dealing in stolen property. They're getting charged like the mob for baby formula.

I mean, you hope the fence was at least selling it at a discount to these poor mothers. Geez. I had no idea. You hear me complain about the price of things from time to time, but I'm sure that baby formula was not fifty dollars a can back in the day.

Seems like it was like 10 bucks or something. I I don't know. I'm old! Back in my day, things were horrible. Maybe I just don't remember things very well. Actually, I know that I don't.

I have a terrible memory. Anyway, I'm gonna leave. Alright. I'll see you tomorrow morning. Have a great afternoon. I appreciate you.
