NHOMAM - Sober, Angry, G-Less, And Armed With A Liberty Bell - 09/14/2026
Speaker 1: The noon hour of madness and mahem the podcast.
Speaker 2: Yay. For Monday, Peaches. Yay. More enthusiasm. Come on. Yay. That better? Yeah. Jeez.
Speaker 1: I like the mood that you're in now that you're not drinking.
Speaker 2: I do tend to be in a better mood when I'm not drinking.
Speaker 1: I've noticed that with you, Becca, and my friend Matt.
Speaker 2: Uh it's pretty much that way, I think, for everybody in general. Cause at a certain point, either you're feeling physically lousy, or it's mentally affecting you. Like, even if you're not hung over, it's it's not doing good things to your brain. So, like depression levels go way up. Anxiety goes through the roof. Um, and I mean, I've noticed, like, I gotta be careful with caffeine now. You've seen now I pound caffeine. Now it probably takes half as much for it to do something.
So I'll end up just crawling out of my skin if I do the usual dosage of instant coffee shooter. So, yeah, doing pretty good. I mean, and it's Monday. It's Monday, and I'm in a decent mood. That never happens. And you're how many days sober now? Um let's see. I started it on like Friday a week ago.
Speaker 1: Like I thought it was Saturday. Because Friday was supposed to take it.
Speaker 2: It was supposed to be Friday. So Saturday. So I don't know. I meant like nine days, ten days, something like that. There we go. You know, good. I don't plan on uh falling off the wagon anytime soon. Fantastic.
Well, gotta stick with it. We got lots of stuff coming up. I gotta be in good shape for one week from Wednesday, seven dust, live at the Mount America Center.
Speaker 1: I know the the place uh Becca works at, they were doing craft night last night, and it was make your own it was like uh make your own Halloween sign or something like that. And I asked Becca, I'm like, hey, are you guys gonna go there? Because I was looking for an excuse to get out of my place. Yeah. And sure enough, she's like, no, we're not doing any bar activities because of course we're not drinking now. I'm like, that's that's a smart decision.
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean, when you're not very far in, probably best to avoid situations where you're stuck at a bar for a couple hours. Like, I can go by and say hi to Becca on lunch, you know, and be like, hey, how's it going? Drop her off some food and get out of there. But if I was to sit there for two hours, you know, just sit there and listen to all the drunks talk to me. At a certain point, you're like, all right, I I gotta get in the same mind state people.
Speaker 1: You're 100% my world where you get to see what drunk people are like, where they give you that overly aggressive slap on the back. Oh, yeah. How are you doing, big guy? I mean listening to the station since it first started. You know what song played on repeat?
Speaker 2: Metallica one. That's been that long. Yeah, dude. I I totally get it. If I'm not hammered, I do not enjoy being around hammered people. They're annoying. Yeah. But if you're one of them, you don't notice because you're an idiot too.
Speaker 1: So I would be the worst.
Speaker 2: I would approach people to expect of you, Peaches. I don't know how you would get.
Speaker 1: Well, first of all, I think I would start crying. Second of all, I think I would also be social, extra social, and walk up to people, and that's already intimidating as it is. No matter who you are, if you have some giant guy walking towards you, especially if you're like a young woman. Oh, yeah, yeah. And you see me out of all people.
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I I'm not the type of guy who uh you know, when I get extra social, I don't tend to bother uh women. I just tend to bother dudes. What's wrong with me? Who talks to me? I don't know.
I feel like well, for one, you know, I got a lady, so you know, don't need to be getting all hammered and talking to, you know, random women in the bar. Right.
Speaker 1: But um because that could like that that could just lead to trouble. Because you know, everyone's so uh what's the word I'm looking for? They're so overly cautious about stuff too. Like, oh, you said one sentence to somebody.
Speaker 2: Yeah, dude. I mean, especially if you're like us and you're a public figure, you know, you gotta watch like every little word you say.
Speaker 1: Well, people know who you are, they don't know who I am.
Speaker 2: A lot of people know who you are, Peach. I I I I bet I disagree. I bet you get recognized more than me because you're easier to spot. I don't know though. It's hard to say.
Speaker 1: Either well, that and well, either that happens and they just they just don't say anything. Could be that. Do I not look approachable?
Speaker 2: Well, you're a big guy. So like when I go out in public, I tend to be wearing stupid sunglasses, and half the time I'm behaving in a ridiculous manner, uh, making fun of things and laughing. So I I I might be more approachable. I don't know. I'm I'm short and I wear stupid glasses.
Speaker 1: I well, also I I don't I don't go out in public all that much either. Because I've talked about for the past few months I've been in hiding. And the one time I went to Walmart recently, I ran into somebody we know, our good friend Carolina Rosslyn. Oh yeah, I haven't seen her in a long time. Doing a Walmart pickup order, just trying to find the Pringles, and I was trying to get new Apple headphones or whatever. And that was like I was like the one time I go to Walmart, I I see somebody, and that's a young girl approaching me. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I mean, I pretty much every time I go somewhere, someone will say what up, Victor, or you know, things like that.
Speaker 1: There was a few people that said, like, oh, that's Brendan Peach uh at the Fluffy show. Oh, right on. That was cool.
Speaker 2: I wish I could have made it to that show, but uh, yeah, I was at home behaving myself. I did not hit the fair this year, aside from the uh fair food tasting.
Speaker 1: So a lot of people here in the area, they uh they say they hate the fair. And that's what's funny is that a lot of people say they hate the fair, but then all of a sudden, like everyone still goes to it. They don't hate the fair. It's like the same people that go, I don't listen to the radio, but then yet again they know what we when what we talk about when we talk about it, all of that stuff.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think people hate the fair. I think they hate the crowd. True. Last time I went to the fair, it got to be evening, it got packed. I was like, we we have to leave. I I can't do this. We're going to Texas Roadhouse.
Speaker 1: I went to There's a bigger a bigger crowd there. No, it was nice and mellow because it was fair week. That wasn't this year, that was last year.
Speaker 1: A few years ago, I went to the fair just because I was inspired. I was like, you know what? I gotta stop being the guy who like misses out on things because I'm by myself. Let me just go to the fair. And it was Labor Day.
Ah. And it was raining, and I took the uh parking pass from here, checked it out, went to the parking spot, literally right across from the entrance. And that was already a pain in the butt because trying to get there, I saw all these different cars trying to make their way. And then I make my way inside. I went, This is dumb. Why am I here by myself? Like, this should be something that you take somebody at least to.
Someone. But I went to the vendor spot, spent a whole bunch of money on like beard stuff. Because I think the beard was relatively new back then. And then I just went home after like I i I spent less time at the fair than it took to drive to and from Blackfoot.
Speaker 2: Uh it understandable, Peaches. You saw uh you saw me when I went to C Z top.
Speaker 1: You barreled over the top of people barreled over the top of a row of people.
Speaker 2: Dude, I I definitely spent more time uh going to arriving at the venue, being in the hallways, and then the leaving I I was in there for like a song. Right. It was not long at all.
Speaker 1: I took I took uh our good buddy Ryan to that show.
Speaker 2: Yeah, sometimes you just can't deal with a crowd, Peaches. What's up, Peaches?
Speaker 1: I got an idea for a new uh contest, I think.
Speaker 2: An idea for a new contest.
Speaker 1: It's it's uh it's an expansion of what we used to do, DJ for a day.
Speaker 2: Okay, what's your idea to expand DJ for a day?
Speaker 1: Can you do better than Peaches or can you do better than Victor when it comes to doing an on-air break? Okay.
Speaker 2: Uh there are probably people out there who can. I don't I don't think I'm that great. And depending on who's judging. I mean, you could get somebody who'd say that I'm probably the worst DJ of all time, depending on who's judging.
Speaker 1: Well, we're not gonna have some old Fogey radio programmer be a judge. Hmm.
Speaker 2: Maybe we have someone who's we gotta find someone who's neutral.
Speaker 1: We gotta find somebody who's a stand-up comedian. We gotta find a stand-up comedian judge. Okay. We gotta find uh a radio programmer that's not necessarily uh 40 plus.
Speaker 2: Yeah, or in our building, because they might be biased. Sure.
Speaker 1: But then 40 plus 50 plus. Because 40 I don't consider Jade 40.
Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I consider him like a hundred.
Speaker 1: Yeah, right? He's so old timey. Oh, yeah. No, no, my name is Jade.
Speaker 2: But he'd probably have any type of do that impression again.
Speaker 1: Oh, my name is Jay Davis.
Speaker 1: But then you have guys like you and Josh that are, you know, you're old. But you're still the same age as Jade, but also at the same time you act young.
Speaker 2: Hey, Jade is older than me by one year. By one year. He is much older than me.
Speaker 1: Even Justin seems seems younger than Jade.
Speaker 2: Well, the reason why I bring this up is because I wanted to, I I was looking at the the feedback on the Caleb Show Mo Beartooth interview, and people are just bonkers on the internet as of late. Um there was a clip that I shared on our Instagram, and some guy was just going on this crazy rant about how uh Caleb uh uh Bear Tooth sucks because of Caleb now. Bad Omen's new music is lame. I'm like, I'll delete that comment.
And then there was uh another guy that uh was going back and forth with me because I posted a little behind the scenes video of me and you where we're talking about uh like oh, this is me just rambling about random stuff to Victor, and Victor is just arguing with people on Facebook, and of course it's that same old stereotypical comment of like you guys need to shut up and play the music. You guys need to do a voting poll and see what uh what the listeners want if they just want more music or more DJs.
Speaker 2: Okay, well, we could do that. Sure. We could do that in the group right now. But then But you have to be a member of the K Mare 101 Idaho Rock and Metal group to vote.
Speaker 1: As you're making this voting poll, I was looking at the comments on the Caleb Show Mo interview on YouTube, and there was some some guy in there monitoring how I said the word thing and lawn. Apparently I'm not putting enough emphasis on the G. I thought it was Jade's burner account. I was I was about to text him.
Speaker 2: I mean, I I've told you that before. I remember when you were new, I was like, Peaches, gotta have uh you gotta enunciate that G a little bit more. But I wouldn't I don't you know I flub up my speech all the time, and I've got you know, not a big deal.
Speaker 1: And this guy was using time stamps, and he was like, maybe you don't have a you don't have a place behind the microphone. And I said, You are a bleeping, and I put E E N loser. You put bleeping.
Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't put the G at the end.
Speaker 1: No, because he said thin as in like T-H-E-E-N.
Speaker 2: Oh, he's a th thing. Yeah.
Speaker 1: Or like lawn was L A W N.
Speaker 2: Oh, okay. That yeah, that's kind of rude. I mean, I've heard other radio D everybody's got their own little like speech, you know, uh crutches and things like that. I say anyway about a million times a day. Uh I I wouldn't dive in and critique somebody's enunciation unless it was like real bad.
Speaker 1: But I can guarantee you if that loser started a radio show and I just went to his I just went to battle against this guy. I was like, this is what you sound like compared to me, and you're giving me insults.
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was he a uh programmer or something?
Speaker 1: No, just some random guy with uh Beavis and butt head profile picture.
Speaker 2: Sounds like a burner burner count for sure. N now it's gonna be stuck in your head, isn't it? No, it's just it was funny. Okay. I don't care.
Speaker 1: I I let stuff like that go.
Speaker 2: Because I heard you just say some some word that ended with G and you said the G. So yeah. All right. Maybe he's helping you, Peaches.
Speaker 1: That guy's a bleeping loser.
Speaker 2: Constructive criticism, Peaches. All right, Peaches. I have officially made the poll in the KBARL 101 Idaho Rock and Metal group for listeners to vote on. I mean, honestly, listeners, I'm going to tell you that your responses probably don't matter.
Speaker 1: Well, you're gonna say that, and then No, we are here.
Speaker 2: People are not gonna vote. And you're gonna see tons of people in the comments going like, Well, this is why I stopped listening and started going over to Octane. Great. Great and don't tell me you're tuning into Octane for less talk, because Jose never shuts up.
Speaker 1: And he talks about the mo the same stuff over and over and over again, talking about who what artists he's met.
Speaker 2: Hey, everybody I was hanging out with this band's weed.
Speaker 1: I was gonna say how much weed he smokes. Katie Babbs, of course, is talking about her baby. Yeah, she's a new mom. She's married to a rock star.
Speaker 2: Chad Gray is my husband. He's in a band called Munda. That's that's Shannon Guns. Oh, definitely. who's she married to?
Speaker 1: Katie Babs is married to the former guitarist of Crown the Empire. Oh, okay. I think guitarist, maybe bassist. I don't know. All right. Background guy.
Speaker 2: So we have the poll up. It's a really simple poll. How much we talk, your opinion. And they have three options. Talk less, just enough talk, or talk more. So I'm very interested to see what listeners say. Maybe it will have some impact. If everyone is like, like everybody's like, talk less. Maybe we need to tone it down a bit. Make our jobs easier. Oh, please. That'd be great. Yeah, sure.
Speaker 1: There's some days where I'm like, I want I don't want to talk about anything, and I'll just I'd rather let the music play.
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll I'll do this like a top 40 show. I'd be glad to just go, hey, don't forget, we're giving away tickets to Yellow Wolf this week. Get more details at our website or you know, hey, listen to this promo.
Speaker 1: And the guy that was in her Instagram comments was like, we don't care about your personal lives, all of that stuff. It's like, geez, man.
Speaker 2: Well, better not listen to my show then.
Speaker 1: I wonder what that guy's life is like at home. He must hate his wife.
Speaker 2: He must not have a good personal life. Yeah, because generally if you don't want to hear about somebody's personal life, it's because you're like, hey, stop bragging or something like that. What am I bragging about? What are you bragging about? Yeah.
Speaker 1: What am I bragging about?
Speaker 2: Good job, Peaches. Good job. Uh losing weight. You're, you know, I'd say you're bragging about your uh healthy eating and uh the exercise you get. And for a fat lazy guy like me, you know, you make me feel bad.
Speaker 1: Well, there are people who are actually inspired by what I've been doing, and they're wanting to do the same thing. Yeah. And who knows? Maybe the days of you not drinking will help drinking help people stop drinking.
Speaker 2: Well, and I I try to be honest with the listeners about that kind of thing, because I know it's an issue a lot of people struggle with. Uh so letting people know that you know every type of person can struggle with certain issues. I think that's a good thing.
Speaker 1: I was I talked to Joey and Lauren on the uh talking between the songs podcast, talking between the songs podcasts. Songs songs podcast. And uh Lauren was talking about how um she went through an IVF journey.
Oh and all of that. And of course, other listeners or listeners of theirs found that very relatable and were like, oh, okay, these are these are now two of my friends that don't necessarily know me, kind of thing.
Speaker 2: Well, every podcaster or radio person that I really enjoy talks about their personal life. You get to know them and they feel like they're your friend. You feel like you know them well, so you want to tune in and find out what they've got going on now.
Speaker 1: At first, I didn't talk about my personal life at all. That was uh Jade who told me, like, hey, open up, and I'm like, well, I started selling things on Facebook Marketplace, selling things. I started selling the letter G out of my alphabet to really make ends meet.
Speaker 2: Peaches totally got rid of the letter G. Can only afford uh 25 letters.
Speaker 1: Ain't nothing but a G thing over here. Thing.
Speaker 2: The thing let's just like start skipping letters in the alphabet and start learning to speak like that.
Speaker 2: All right, what are some other letters that would be? I mean, G. Q. Q. That's not in enough words, I think. X. X. I mean, you could start 100.3, the invoicey.
Speaker 1: G seems like the easiest letter to just leave off of a word, I guess. I can't still get the word across.
Speaker 1: I can't say big J without the without the G. Because then he's just by J. Yeah.
Speaker 2: Or I thought you were gonna say a word that sounds kind of like um, you know, crying like a oh, yeah. Crying J. Oh, crying. But isn't that one written out as crying? I think it is. It is, yeah. Crying like Maybe because the G is useless.
Because if it was B I J and you just put it as one word, crying like a yeah. But pterodactyl. I'll I'll include the P. Well, it's a Monday. Tonight. All right. You guys are gonna turn peaches into a nut. All right, Peaches. I may have found a new walking challenge for you. Sweet. Let's do it. It just got my attention. Scrolling Reddit here.
Speaker 1: I got 10,000 steps yesterday. Where were yours?
Speaker 2: Uh I didn't have my phone with me, or it actually might be pretty good. Cause uh yesterday we what did we do yesterday?
Speaker 1: You hit yourself in the face with the with the Liberty Bell.
Speaker 2: That was on Saturday.
Speaker 1: That was a funny, funny video.
Speaker 2: I knew it would be. I thought people would like it. Um I'm glad you posted it. Yeah. Glad glad to last.
Speaker 1: Yeah. People are just gonna be tuning in for the first time for a while on the noon hour. They're like, why is he putting so much emphasis on the G. So cool.
Speaker 2: I should have posted the whole video because it would have made me look really stupid.
Speaker 1: Sure.
Speaker 2: Okay, because we woke up early Saturday, which is something that happens when you're not drinking. Oh. You get up early. Oh, that's what I did. You actually go out and do things.
Speaker 1: I stayed up till two in the morning Friday night doing a DD campaign. Oh, nice. Campaign uh with my friends with my friends Zach and Eric.
Speaker 2: If you're just tuning in, Peaches is working on his enunciation.
Speaker 1: No, I'm just being I'm just being uh jerk.
Speaker 2: So uh yeah, I'm at the farmer's market and I walked by the the Liberty Bell, and the guy's like, come on, come bring the bell. And I'm like, ah, I'll do it on the way back. And then we were on our way back, and I was like, all right, Becca, you know, film me ringing the Liberty Bell. Ringing, ringing, ringing, the Liberty Bell. So I walk up to the guy, whoever the guy is that's you know handing people the rope, and I am so stupid this came out of my mouth.
I was half awake. Not the rope bearer. So I'm talking to the rope bearer, and I'm like bearer. And I asked, I'm like, so is this the one from Philadelphia? Liberty Bell? I really asked that. And he's like, no, that one has a crack in it and doesn't make any sound.
Speaker 1: So does my butt, but it's still works.
Speaker 2: My butt still makes noise. It's gonna crack in it. But I I pointed out to him, yeah, I didn't see the crack, so I assume. But I'm like, it doesn't make any noise if you hit it because of the crack. It's gotta make some noise.
Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking too. Thinking.
Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no way it's totally silent, but I was like, okay, well, whatever. Well, let me ring the bell. Like that uh sloth rust song.
Speaker 1: Is it slow thrust or sloth thrust? Because it's I've read both. There might be a YouTube comment on my next interview. Ah, yeah, I've You said the band name wrong, you idiot.
Speaker 2: I've read both. That uh it could be slow thrust or sloth rust. You said it wrong. So uh that's a good question. If you're talking to someone from the band, be like, hey, which one's right? So, yeah, I rang the bell and punched myself in the face. Um and then put it out there for everybody's enjoyment.
Speaker 1: I'm very happy you did. Good for you. That's what people find funny.
Speaker 2: The more embarrassing, The more embarrassing, the better the video. Look at the stupid video when I mean you made me look dumb, and I was I was just trying to test the air conditioner and make sure that he came on. But you posted a picture of me, old man tries to work air conditioner or something.
Speaker 1: No, I don't know if besides that, I don't know if this one video that I sent you, if this guy was actually blind and he was trying to skateboard or what it was, but he had the he had the scene eye stick. Is that what it's called? He had the stick to help him.
Speaker 2: Seeing eye stick. How about you shut the up?
Speaker 1: And he was trying to go down the ramp, and he did went down the ramp and went up another and didn't land. Oh he did better than me, to be quite honest with you. Uh I can't surf, I can't skateboard, rollerblade, anything of that sort. Ice uh uh what's it called? Ice hockey.
Speaker 2: Yep, my balance is terrible. You're not gonna see me on any type of uh a stick that you stand on.
Speaker 1: You want to see in a real a really embarrassing sight? What's that? Watch me go downhill when there's snow. It'll be like the boulder in Indiana Jones. I'm coming at you full speed. You better be out of the way. Completely.
